Job Summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a highly motivated Critical Facilities Technician Intern to join our Data Centre team in Haarlem, providing hands-on technical and facility support in a 24x7 data center environment. This role offers an opportunity to learn the maintenance and oversight of critical electrical, HVAC, civil, and building management systems. You will contribute to ensuring smooth operations, monitoring equipment, and adhering to safety procedures, while developing your skills in a supportive environment dedicated to customer and team success.

Must Have

  • Assist senior technicians in performing limited maintenance tasks for data center heating, cooling, and facility operations.
  • Support the team in taking daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment and inspecting buildings.
  • Monitor and update assigned service tickets, tracking trouble tickets and assisting with customer installations.
  • Learn and adhere to all safety procedures, proactively flagging issues for resolution.
  • Shadow senior staff to permit and monitor contract vendors, assisting with access and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail to understand and follow documented safety codes and procedures.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and adapt quickly to changing work tasks.
  • Customer service mentality and a strong desire to learn and grow within Iron Mountain.

Good to Have

  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a technical program (e.g., Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Facilities Management) is highly desirable.

Job Summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a highly motivated Critical Facilities Technician Intern to join our Data Centre team in Haarlem, providing hands-on technical and facility support in a 24x7 data center environment. This full-time shift role is an opportunity to learn the maintenance and oversight of critical electrical, HVAC, civil, and building management systems. You must be self-motivated, possess a strong desire to learn, and be dedicated to supporting your team and IMDC’s vision.

What You'll Do (Core Responsibilities)

  • Assist senior technicians in performing limited maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the data center's heating and cooling systems and overall facility.
  • Support the team in taking daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and inspecting buildings for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.
  • Monitor and update assigned service tickets using a ticketing system, specifically tracking trouble tickets and assisting with customer installations of electrical and physical equipment.
  • Learn and adhere to all safety procedures to ensure the safety of the environment and occupants, and proactively flag issues for resolution.
  • Shadow senior staff to permit and monitor contract vendors, assisting in arranging access and documentation for internal works or for vendors.
