Job Description

The Indirect Sourcing Team manages procurement for an organization, including IT, marketing, facilities, logistics, and professional services, focusing on cost savings and operational efficiency. As the International Inbound Logistics Manager, you will drive cost savings and efficiency across North America Freight Equipment production/UX locations by analyzing financial data, forecasting budgets, and implementing strategic sourcing. You will collaborate with site leadership, OPEX, Fulfillment, Customs, and Global Commodity Leaders to resolve issues, identify improvements, and manage carrier performance, contract negotiations, and 3PL coordination to ensure compliance and enhance service levels.

  • Drive cost savings and operational efficiency across North America Freight Equipment production/UX locations.
  • Analyze financial data and forecast budget alignment.

  • Track mode spends and record in financial tracking systems.

  • Assist in resolving day-to-day logistics issues.
  • Manage and interact continually with 3PLs.
  • Evaluate carrier performance for all modes.
  • Attend GSA country negotiations with carriers.
  • Understand and follow corporate policy including ethical standards.

Who will you be working with?

The Indirect Sourcing Team is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services that support an organization’s operations. This includes areas such as IT, marketing, facilities, logistics, and professional services. The team develops sourcing strategies, negotiates contracts, and builds supplier relationships to drive cost savings, ensure compliance, and improve service quality across departments. By aligning procurement efforts with business goals, they help optimize organizational spend and enhance operational efficiency.

How will you make a difference?

As the International Inbound Logistics Manager, you will drive cost savings and operational efficiency across North America Freight Equipment production/UX locations by analyzing financial data, forecasting budget alignment, and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives. You’ll collaborate closely with site leadership, OPEX, Fulfillment, Customs and Global Commodity Leaders to understand production/sourcing strategy, resolve operational issues, and identify improvement opportunities. Through regular communication, relationship-building, and hands-on project management, including carrier performance, contract negotiations, and 3PL coordination. You’ll help ensure compliance, enhance service levels, and support Wabtec’s long-term logistics vision.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Logistics / Freight Forwarding
  • Knowledge of Domestic, International Ocean and Air Procurement logistics
  • Must have operational knowledge in moving heavy weight air, truck, parcel, and ocean
  • Border Drayage Carrier experience (Mexico / Canada)
  • Parcel small pack experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead supplier evaluation, selection, negotiation, contracting, and implementation
  • Experience in supplier relationship management, KPI and performance management
  • Strong analytical skills (financial, spend, supply market, etc.)
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) desired
  • Experience with logistics software and tools preferred

What will your typical day look like?

  • Conduct financial analysis across all Freight Equipment & UX locations to support budget planning and identify cost savings opportunities
  • Track mode spends and record in our financial tracking systems
  • Forecast quarterly and annual spend plus budget savings throughout the year
  • Develop relationships with carriers and various stakeholders throughout the company
  • Develop and implement cost savings ideas through projects, rate improvements, carrier changes, etc.
  • Assist in resolving day-to-day logistics issues for all FE/UX locations
  • Manage and interact continually with 3PLs to enhance operations and spend/savings forecasts
  • Build, manage, and continually adjust to increase savings and service levels
  • Evaluate carrier performance for all modes
  • Attend GSA country negotiations with carriers
  • Understand and follow corporate policy including ethical standards
  • Perform other related duties as required

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
