Thales is a global high-tech leader specializing in three sectors: Defense & Security, Aerospace & Space, and Cyber & Digital. It develops products and solutions that contribute to a safer, more environmentally friendly, and more inclusive world. The Group invests nearly 4 billion euros per year in Research & Development, particularly in key innovation areas such as AI, cybersecurity, quantum, cloud technologies, and 6G. Thales has nearly 81,000 employees in 68 countries.
Thales Research&Technology, our research center in hardware domains, and CortAIx Labs, our research center in AI and digital, are tasked with proposing breakthrough innovations, maintaining and increasing technological lead, and ensuring competitiveness for the group.
By joining us, you will integrate a passionate team and work on a subject that is part of a theoretical simulation project aimed at continuing the development of a design and optimization code for imaging optical systems for THALES group applications.
Your objective will be to imagine optical systems capable of collaborating with algorithmic processing embedded in the detector, codesigning both the imaging system and the deconvolution filter to improve overall performance.
You will study the use of optical metasurfaces as phase masks. These state-of-the-art components allow precise local control of phase and dispersion, but require more advanced numerical simulation approaches than simple ray tracing.
Your main missions:
You will have the opportunity to develop skills at the interface between advanced optics, numerical simulation, and signal processing.
Are you eager to discover the field of research?
Do you aspire to complete your internship at Thales?
As an M2 student, engineering school student, or equivalent training, you have knowledge in:
Are rigor, autonomy, and analytical skills recognized as your strengths?
Then this internship is for you!
All our internships are formalized by an agreement and subject to remuneration, the amount of which is determined according to your level of study.
