INTERNSHIP: Fluids Validation
Job Description
- Enrolled in a Masters or PhD Degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
- Experience with Navier-Stokes algorithms, RANS turbulence models, and body fitted meshing
- Experience in CFD Verification and Validation processes
- Ability to identify suitable verification & validation cases for aerodynamics, heat transfer, multiphase
- Ability to set up V&V cases, execute sensitivity studies, and report outcomes to product management and development team leads
- Ability to automate case set up where applicable

At SIMULIA our mission is to provide best-in-class simulation technologies integrated into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in the most efficient way possible. In the Fluids group, we have a world-class group of researchers who develop fluids solver capabilities using DevOps techniques and tools to integrate and test our modifications. The use of DevOps enables quicker delivery of new functionality to our customers.
In the past few years, we have rapidly added releases and features to the Fluids solver on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. As a Fluids Validation Intern, you will work with the SIMULIA Fluids R&D team to validate numerous aerodynamics, thermal and multi-phase workflows, summarizing the impact of physics modeling, meshing and algorithm parameters on the overall result. As part of this internship, you will gain experience working with software in a production environment with a combination of industry standard tools and legacy systems.
- Working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and assignments
- Identifying suitable verification & validation cases for aerodynamics, heat transfer, multiphase supporting Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial Equipment and High-Tech industries
- Setting up V&V cases; executing sensitivity studies (physics models, meshing approaches, algorithm parameters); reporting outcomes to product management and development team leads
- Automating case set up where applicable
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Masters or PhD Degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
- Experience with Navier-Stokes algorithms, RANS turbulence models and body fitted meshing
- Experience in CFD Verification and Validation processes
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
