Internship - Test Engineer

This Internship - Test Engineer role at Infineon involves developing software and hardware solutions for digital power management test systems, creating and enhancing test infrastructures, generating and integrating test programs, performing data analysis, and utilizing test equipment for electrical measurements. The ideal candidate is actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Computer Engineering, with a basic understanding of electronics principles and programming skills.

Must Have

• Develop solutions for digital power management test systems (software and hardware)
• Create and enhance test infrastructures (scripts, data structure, embedded software, instrumentation control)
• Generate, integrate, debug, validate, document, and release test programs
• Collect, process, analyze large-scale datasets and compile statistical reports
• Perform and automate electrical measurements with signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
• Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Computer Engineering
• Basic understanding of analog/digital circuits, power devices, and high-speed signal integrity
• Skilled in C, C++, C#, VBASIC, LabVIEW, and scripting languages
• Practical experience with signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and bench test automation
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and effective communication and teamwork ability

Good to Have

• Knowledge in digital and analog IC design and verification

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Test Software and Hardware Development: Develop solutions for digital power management test systems, including both software and hardware components
• Test Infrastructures: Create and enhance test infrastructures such as data processing scripts, data structure, embedded software, and instrumentation control
• Test Program Creation: Generate and integrate test programs with equipment, debug, validate, document, and release as per standards
• Data Analysis: Collect, process, analyze large-scale datasets and compile statistical reports for product performance validation
• Test Equipment Utilization: Perform and automate electrical measurements with signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
• Duration: 6-month on-site co-op for Spring 2026 in Leominster, MA

• Education: Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Computer Engineering
• Electronics Principles: Basic understanding of analog/digital circuits, power devices, and high-speed signal integrity
• Programming: Skilled in C, C++, C#, VBASIC, LabVIEW, and scripting languages
• Measurement Skills: Practical experience with signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and bench test automation
• IC Design: Knowledge in digital and analog IC design and verification is a plus
• Problem Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving skills and effective communication and teamwork ability

Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate:

Minimum of $20.00 per hour

Maximum of $36.50 per hour

Hourly rate will depend on the highest level of education completed.
