Job Summary
As a Junior Sales / Business Development Intern, you will contribute to our growth by building and nurturing a pipeline of financial-sector clients, supporting strategic account management, performing market and competitor analysis, and contributing to our B2B sales strategy. Under the supervision of an experienced mentor, you will learn how to approach, qualify, and attract new clients, and develop an understanding of the challenges and opportunities in banking, insurance, and financial technologies.
Must Have
- Identify and prospect new clients (banks, insurance companies, fintechs)
- Support account management and client relationship nurturing
- Qualify leads and manage CRM/lead-tracking tools
- Support preparation of proposals, presentations, and demos
- Conduct market and competitive analysis
- Collaborate with marketing, consulting, and delivery teams
- Report progress on pipeline status and outreach metrics
- Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution
- Strong communication skills in English and French
- High motivation, resourcefulness, and curiosity
- Comfort with outreach, cold contact, and client interactions
- Analytical mindset for research and information synthesis
- Ability to manage time and maintain organized follow-ups
- Basic familiarity with Google Workspace / Office tools
- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person status
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Job Description
Junior Sales / Business Development Intern
As a Junior Sales / Business Development Intern, you will fuel our growth by: building and nurturing a pipeline of financial-sector clients, supporting strategic account-farming, performing market and competitor analysis, and contributing to our B2B sales strategy. Under senior mentorship, you’ll learn how to approach, qualify and convert leads, and develop an understanding of challenges and opportunities in banking/insurance/fintech.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify & prospect potential clients (banks, insurance companies, fintechs) via market research, databases, LinkedIn, network-building.
- Support account-farming: nurture and manage relationships with leads, maintain contact, understand needs, position Bounteous’ offering for maximum fit.
- Qualify leads and manage CRM / lead-tracking tools; keep the sales pipeline up to date.
- Support preparation of proposals, decks, demos for clients; assist senior team members in meetings when needed.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis: map trends in finance/fintech/insurance, identify market gaps, and contribute to strategic reflections on where Bounteous should target next.
- Collaborate with marketing, consulting, and delivery teams to ensure alignment between what we promise and what we can deliver.
- Report progress regularly: pipeline status, outreach metrics, feedback, lead qualification, market insights.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution (full-time or part-time)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), ideally in English and French.
- High motivation, resourcefulness, curiosity; interest in digital transformation, fintech, consulting, sales.
- Comfort with outreach, cold contact, and client interactions; good interpersonal skills and professionalism.
- Analytical mindset: able to perform research, understand markets, synthesize information.
- Ability to manage time, track outreach, and maintain organized follow-ups.
- Basic familiarity with office tools (e.g. Google Workspace / Office); CRM experience a plus but not mandatory.

This is a Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunity exclusively for students currently enrolled in a recognized educational program. This position is designed to fulfill academic program requirements and provide structured learning experiences. International students are not eligible for qualification for Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities.

Information Security Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
- Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
- Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
