Project Manager – Supervising Associate
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for project management of design, development and curation of individual learning items and blended learning programs. While the project manager will be aligned primarily to a particular service line, All EY, or function portfolio, this position can work flexibly across all portfolios. The project manager will monitor the progress of instructional designers, developers, graphic artists, quality assurance specialists and all others associated with the design process. They will assist the design lead in overseeing and managing all design activities necessary to deliver learning products that meet EY’s design quality standards, on time and to budget. The project manager will also work to a set of agreed project management standards and processes and will share best practices to support the continuous improvement of design and development speed, efficiency and quality.
Purpose of the Job:

Deliver learning design and development projects on time, to budget and quality standards

Understand the business and learner requirement, and develop a detailed project plan for each project that are realistic and meets established priorities. Plans should be based on metrices and agreed upon by all stakeholders

Establish processes for unique requirements of the project

Follow agreed processes to manage changes to the project work plan, scope and budget

Create and manage effective communication plans to project stakeholders
-
Manage and communicate updates to stakeholders, SMRs, learning consultants and deployment resources; minimize SMR time commitments where possible
-
Manage variances as best suited for the success of the project
-
Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders to achieve the desired outcomes – stakeholders include (but not limited to) SMR’s, project sponsors, design leads project teams, learning consultants, deployment resources, and development teams (included external vendors as the situation demands)

Coordinate and monitor the work of the entire project team (including external vendors as applicable)

Facilitate regular project meetings

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Leverage and share best practices of project management with other team members

Initiate and ensure the effective and timely publication of learning content by content administration

Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

Create and manage project risks and take preventive / corrective actions as needed

Conduct project completion and closure activities to ensure documents, learning and project assets are archived appropriately
Supervision Responsibilities
-
Act independently to oversee the project design and development activities of internal and external design and development resources

Where applicable, oversee project managers, designers and developers of third party providers to ensure they adhere to EY design standards

Promote use of EY design standards, templates, tools and processes
-
Independently maintain and use (when appropriate) an internal network of contacts in other EY practices/departments that will enable personal effectiveness in the position
Responsibilities, Qualifications, Certifications
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Strong business acumen, knowledge of EY’s Vision 2020+ agenda and strategy organization-wide

Strong knowledge of - and commitment to optimize - learning end-to-end processes and standards

Knowledge of learning science and evidence-based design standards and practices to ensure that EY’s learning content is of the highest quality and has the desired business impact

Strong influencing and communication skills - maturity to interact with learning leaders, talent leaders and/or senior business leaders in the organization, and (where required) to resolve issues or challenges as they arise

Strong collaboration skills - to work effectively with other members of the learning and talent teams ensuring that clients’ needs and expectations are met

Ability to use learning technology and tools, as well as other relevant talent systems and knowledge tools
Other Requirements:

Due to global nature of the role; travel and willingness to work alternative hours will be required
Education:
-
Educated to degree level in a related discipline
-
Higher professional or masters qualification in a related discipline is preferred, not required
Experience:
-
Total experience of more than 12 years in the learning domain
-
Minimum of 5 year experience in managing learning design and development projects, preferably at a global level and/or to a dispersed client base

Demonstrable experience involving project management skills including management of vendors
-
Demonstrable experience in managing large-scale learning and development projects involving all delivery channels/types

Demonstrable experience using project management software, including Microsoft Excel or Project
-
Demonstrable experience of having built and maintained strong relationships with business customers/clients

Demonstrable experience of managing change initiatives in global, matrix organizations (such as EY)
-
Demonstrable experience of thinking and acting strategically and commercially in pursuit of the wider EY business objectives

Demonstrable experience of working in fast-paced, stressful environments to deliver required results
Certification Requirements:

Professional qualification in project management (e.g., PMO) or a related discipline is preferred, not required

Active membership in related professional bodies or industry groups is preferred, not required
