Job Summary
CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Lead Concept Artist for Project Orion, the Cyberpunk 2077 follow-up, in Warsaw. This role involves leading a small team to create world-class characters, environments, and hard surface designs. Responsibilities include guiding, mentoring, and providing feedback to artists, defining artistic consistency with the Art Director, and creating designs grounded in strong artistic principles. The ideal candidate will have significant leadership and concept art experience, a passion for RPGs, and exceptional artistic and communication skills. Hybrid working is available, with relocation support provided.
Must Have
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role in a creative environment.
- At least 8 years of experience as a concept artist, working on at least one AAA title.
- In-depth knowledge of the Cyberpunk genre and RPGs.
- Exceptional artistic skills with a strong portfolio in realistic and sci-fi concept art.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to lead, guide, motivate, mentor, and provide feedback to a team.
- Proficiency in both 2D and 3D design software.
- Strong understanding of artistic principles like composition, lighting, color, and anatomy.

Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Lead Concept Artist to join our studio in Warsaw to work on Project Orion, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise. This candidate will bring their years of expertise, stellar leadership skills, creative talent and passion for games to lead a small team of dedicated artists creating world class characters, environments and hard surface designs for our upcoming game. Daily responsibilities:
- Leading a team – guiding, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to team members. You’ll play a key role in building team culture, setting the bar for quality, and helping your peers grow.
- Providing daily support with direction, feedback, ideas, sketches and mentorship.
- Cultivating a collaborative and inspiring team environment in line with the company’s values and goals.
- Creating briefs, setting clear design goals and deliverables, and focusing the concept team on achieving high-quality work that inspires the rest of the team.
- Working closely with the Art Director to define and maintain artistic consistency and direction for the game.
- Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the game universe and established vision.
- Creating clear documentation for creative alignment and actively communicating concepts and ideas to others.
- Creating character, environment, and hard surface designs with strong worldbuilding and storytelling — grounded in solid artistic principles like composition, lighting, colour, and anatomy.
- Proactively problem-solving, improving workflows and pipelines, and ensuring team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participating in creative discussions, brainstorms, and reviews across teams to strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role in a creative environment. We’re looking for someone who has mentored others, shaped project direction, and helped teams succeed.
- At least 8 years of experience as a concept artist, working on at least one AAA title
- In-depth knowledge of the Cyberpunk genre and RPGs and a passion for art and design.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to efficiently demonstrate ideas and concepts and convey information clearly to others.
- Strong mentorship skills, with the ability to provide feedback, share knowledge, and help set the bar for quality
- Exceptional artistic skills, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in realistic and sci-fi concept art, mood paintings, 3D designs, blockouts and paintovers, key-frames, and the ability to create fast ideation sketches such as storyboards.
- A solid background in traditional art such as industrial design, landscape painting or illustration with core foundational art skills to including form, lighting, color, and composition
- Excellent knowledge of both 2d and 3d design software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the willingness to work collaboratively with other teams online in different time zones.

In-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity in Warsaw, Poland. Relocation is required.
