Cadence’s Legal Department is looking for a talented individual to join its Government and Trade Compliance team. You’ll be a key member of a team ensuring Cadence conducts business globally in accordance with the highest standards. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting cross-functional teams; liaising with our business and operational teams; reconciling and harmonizing trade issues; and helping shape policies and processes to help us scale and enhance our compliance program. The role involves supporting day-to-day trade operations, including diligence reviews for end uses/end users and Restricted Party List (RPL) screenings, and assisting in compliance documentation and recordkeeping. This individual will report to the Manager of Government and Trade Team and support the team in the review and management of License Compliance matters, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Must Have:
  • Support day-to-day trade operations of Cadence’s trade compliance program
  • Performing diligence reviews for end uses/end users and Restricted Party List (RPL) screenings
  • Assist in compliance documentation and recordkeeping requirements
  • Support the team in the review and management of License Compliance matters
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in business compliance (e.g., trade, fraud, supply chain)
  • Experience in working for a tech company
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in law
  • Experience working in different time zones

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day trade operations of Cadence’s trade compliance program, which includes, but not limited to the following:
  • Performing diligence reviews for end uses/end users and Restricted Party List (RPL) screenings.
  • Assist in compliance documentation and recordkeeping requirements.
  • This individual will report to the Manager of Government and Trade Team and support the team in the review and management of License Compliance matters.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, exercising independent judgment to address moderate to complex export control and research-related compliance matters.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables efficiently, following Cadence’s best practices, templates, and guidelines.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in business compliance (e.g., trade, fraud, supply chain).
  • Experience in working for a tech company.
  • Preferably has a working knowledge of U.S. export regulations but not required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law; LLM is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in different time zones.
