Job Summary
The Lead Test Engineer, Software will establish and drive the software quality assurance strategy for the customer's software platform. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive test plans, managing test environments, leading test case creation and execution, and overseeing issue tracking. The engineer will focus on reducing SIT-to-Go-live timelines and out-of-box failure rates, implementing best practices, and mentoring a dedicated QA team. Key responsibilities include driving continuous improvement in code delivery confidence and establishing effective QA metrics and automation roadmaps.

The Lead Test Engineer, Software for the customer’s software platform is responsible for establishing and driving the software quality assurance strategy, ensuring robust test planning, execution, and continuous improvement. This role will directly address immediate QA challenges, accelerate SIT-to-Go-live timelines, and reduce out-of-box failure rates by implementing best practices and leading a dedicated QA team.
What You will Do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive software test plans, focusing on upfront design and integration testing for the IntraOne Platform.
- Set up and manage project-specific test environments, including simulation-lite setups for partner software integration.
- Lead the creation and execution of modular test cases by application module and integration points; prioritize automation where feasible.
- Oversee issue and bug tracking using dashboards and metrics to provide visibility and accountability for development and SIT progress.
- Build and maintain reusable test assets for common workflows, with an initial focus on high-impact verticals.
- Coordinate end-to-end regression testing, starting with manual approaches and targeting automation for long-term efficiency.
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team facilitates the implementation of QA practices and test automation, supporting the establishment of standardized procedures and the development of a QA playbook.
- Drive continuous improvement in code delivery confidence and reduction of production failures.
- Mentor and guide junior QA and automation engineers within the validation team.
Immediate Priorities (First 4–6 Months)
- Rapidly reduce SIT-to-Go-live time and out-of-box failure rates through improved planning and early defect detection.
- Establish simple, effective dashboards for tracking and reporting QA metrics.
- Launch manual regression and integration testing, with a clear roadmap to automation.
- Develop and document reusable test cases and assets for key workflows.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work environment with occasional travel to customer sites or Hy-Tek facilities.
- Collaboration across office, warehouse, and manufacturing settings.
- Occasional evening or weekend work during critical deployments.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years in software QA/testing/development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
- Proven experience in test planning, environment setup, and automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of integration testing and simulation environments.
- Experience with issue tracking tools, dashboarding, and QA metrics.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and drive process improvement.
- Experience in Warehouse Automation domain is recommended
Pay Range: $95,000 to $115,000 per year
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
