We seek a full-time Live Broadcast Operations Supervisor who thrives in high-pressure live broadcast environments and has a strong technical foundation in live production systems, workflow oversight, and team leadership. This role will serve as the primary liaison between ASG and a global leader in streaming entertainment, overseeing all live broadcast operations while leading embedded team members and vendors.
You’ll manage team performance, supervise live event execution, develop workflow improvements, and maintain high technical standards across all projects. The ideal candidate will remain calm under pressure, be confident in making decisions during live events, and be proactive in optimizing operations and fostering relationships. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Los Angeles, CA.
Team Leadership & Management
● Act as the line manager for all ASG team members onsite, embedded, or on a flexible basis.
● Ensure team members meet service level expectations, tracking responsiveness and turnover.
● Oversee comprehensive training programs, ensuring alignment with client expectations and standards.
● Maintain and proactively expand a roster of specialized flex roles in collaboration with the client.
Live Broadcast Operations
● Supervise all team members and vendors during live shows and events, ensuring optimal performance.
● Participate in pre-production and engineering meetings to gather technical and testing requirements.
● Operate and manage all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned areas.
● Develop transmission books and coordinate and FAX with trucks and downstream takers.
● Troubleshoot and escalate issues to the client’s Engineering team promptly.
● Monitor and perform quality control of all streams to ensure broadcast standards are met.
Workflow Development
● Collaborate with internal client teams to develop and streamline workflow processes for maximum efficiency.
Reporting
● Provide detailed reports on events, including supplier usage, within 24 hours post-event.
● Deliver monthly headcount/usage reports and incident reports to relevant stakeholders.
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in live broadcast operations, with demonstrated success in a supervisory or lead role.
● Strong technical background with the ability to manage and troubleshoot complex broadcast systems under pressure.
● Experience with common transport mediums such as private fiber networks, WAN, and satellite.
● Hands-on experience with cloud and COTS-based broadcast systems such as AMPP, TAG Video Systems, Zixi Broadcaster, etc.
● Strong understanding of digital audio/video fundamentals, compression technologies (e.g., H.264, H.265), and modern distribution formats.
● Proficiency with video transport protocols including SDI, SMPTE-2110, RTP, RTMP, SRT, Zixi.
● Working knowledge of IP networking, media asset management systems, and file-based workflows.
● Experience managing teams during high-stakes incidents and outages.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
● Proven ability to lead diverse, high-performing teams and coordinate with cross-functional departments during fast-paced live events.
● Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by live broadcast schedules.
● Willingness to travel as needed for live event support or team coordination.
The compensation range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000.
