Job Description

This role involves setting up, supporting, and monitoring local and global LAN, WLAN, WAN, and VoIP infrastructure. The administrator performs network maintenance, installation, and training to ensure services meet company and user requirements. Key responsibilities include maintaining corporate private and public network services, managing existing and future government cloud platforms (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS), and serving as a subject matter expert on cloud Network Administration and technology. The position also involves collaborating on network design, troubleshooting platforms, assessing network requests, implementing security policies, and supporting network monitoring systems.
Good To Have:
  • Security+ and Cloud+ (Or equivalent IA cert) and CompTIA Network+.
  • CCNP Cloud, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Security Engineer Associate.
  • Significant Experience with DNS/DHCP/NAT/FW Security.
  • Experience with Cloud Security Appliances and Security Solutions (CASB).
  • Knowledge and experience working with VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting a Microsoft Windows network.
Must Have:
  • Assist in maintaining corporate private and public network services, features, and capabilities.
  • Assist in maintaining existing and future government cloud platforms including PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS environment.
  • Serve as the overall subject matter expert on cloud Network Administration and technology.
  • Collaborate on detailed network, storage, and compute design documentation.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and support network platforms in existing multi-tenant on-premises and cloud/virtualized platforms.
  • Responsible for assessing and facilitating network requests: firewall policies, VPN, load balancing, cryptography, and network architecture.
  • Design and implement security-first network policies and procedures to adhere with NIST 800.171 and CMMC compliance regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users, support staff, management and other systems departments.
  • Participate in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of localized/on-premise WAN, LAN, and WLAN network infrastructure.
  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot cloud-based network security systems (Palo Alto Firewalls, SilverPeak SD-WAN appliances, CASB, DNS Security Appliances, Arista).
  • Administer and support corporate network monitoring systems (LibreNMS, Syslog Servers).
  • Implement, test, and monitor system enhancements (software and hardware updates/patches).
  • Assist other teams with the integration, implementation, and troubleshooting of projects involving local, cloud, and hybrid network services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Cisco CCNA Cloud or CCNA Route & Switch required, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+, or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in support and maintenance of complex network environment including cloud-based network segmentation/security appliances.
  • In-depth Knowledge of Cisco Firewalls, Routers, Layer 2/3 Switches and VLAN’s as well as Wireless technologies.
  • Deep understanding of Layer2/Layer3 network stack.
  • Possess knowledge and ability to configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, and VoIP, particularly within a Cisco environment.
  • Knowledge of protocols EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, G.729, G.711, RTP, SIP, H.323, MGCP, T.38 and other routing, gateway load balancing, and VoIP-related protocols.
  • Knowledge of IT Security policies as they pertain to NIST 800.171 and Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM).
  • Troubleshooting skillset for LAN/WAN network and application issues on premise and cloud appliances.
  • Knowledge of Network Services such as DNS, IPAM, (S)FTP, TFTP, LDAP, SMTP, and DHCP.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure Monitoring tools using SNMP, Netflow, and Syslog.
  • Knowledge of 802.1x and certificates.
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role due to U.S. Government contract requirements.

Summary

Setup, support, and monitor local & global LAN, WLAN, WAN, and VoIP Infrastructure. Perform a variety of network maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure LAN/WLAN/WAN/VoIP services meet company and user requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Cisco CCNA Cloud or CCNA Route & Switch required, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+, or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in support and maintenance of complex network environment including cloud-based network segmentation/security appliances.

Work Environment

  • Duties performed in an office environment.
  • Must be able to work overtime, on and off-shifts as required.
  • The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.
