Job Summary

Job Description

The purpose of the Machinist is to fabricate, modify, and repair precision parts from a wide range of metals and plastics; operate manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and perform welding; Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files, and maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards to support manufacturing in the consumer healthcare industry.
Must have:
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair precision parts from a wide range of metals and plastics
  • Operate manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and perform welding
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
  • Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards to support manufacturing
  • Ensure all work is performed with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and organization
  • Documenting completed work and the conditions found and analysis, utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Interacting regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of machinery operations
  • Work within an operations driven team environment to resolve issues and improve performance
  • Strong Understanding of mechanical process and material selection for each job
  • Reverse engineer and produce spare parts inventory for stockroom
Good to have:
  • 5 years’ experience as a Tool and Die Maker, Machinist, or Industrial Fabricator, or related
  • Certification in machining, tool and die making, or related industrial fabrication
  • Proficiency in manual machining techniques
  • Fabrication experience: Mills, Lathes, Drill Press, Band Saws, Grinders
  • Experience with TIG/MIG welding and Portable Passivator system
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, high-quality work
  • Familiarity with a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to assist the mechanics with various equipment rebuilds
  • Capable and willing to train other team members on basic machine operation
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and dedication to maintaining a safe and clean workspace

Role Responsibilities

  • Operate manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and perform welding
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files
  • Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards to support manufacturing in the consumer healthcare industry
  • Ensure all work is performed with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with industrial fabrication, tool and die making, machinist, or similar

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience as a Tool and Die Maker, Machinist, or Industrial Fabricator, or related preferred
  • Certification in machining, tool and die making, or related industrial fabrication
  • Proficiency in manual machining techniques
  • Preferred fabrication experience:
  • Mills, Lathes, Drill Press, Band Saws, Grinders
  • Experience with TIG/MIG welding and Portable Passivator system preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, high-quality work
