Job Description

The Maintenance Electrician Specialist is responsible for the layout, installation, and maintenance of industrial process equipment and plant infrastructure. Key duties include establishing secondary distribution centers, balancing loads, wiring complex circuits, and performing repairs and troubleshooting on electrical control circuits. The role involves diagnosing issues, inspecting machinery, overseeing electrical projects, troubleshooting and modifying PLCs, ordering parts, writing reports, and performing minor welding.
Must have:
  • Layout, installation and maintenance on a variety of industrial process equipment and plant infrastructure.

  • Makes repairs involving disassembling units and replacing/troubleshooting electrical control circuits.
  • Makes diagnoses to replace or repair parts and make adjustments.
  • Inspects machinery to insure proper operation.
  • Oversees major amount of work required for each electrical project.
  • Troubleshoots PLC's and is able to modify programs.
  • Orders parts and writes reports as needed.
  • Performs all minor welding.
  • Performs all other skills required of other specialists.

Job Details

  • Establishes secondary distribution centers, balance loads, and wire complicated circuits.
  • Makes repairs involving disassembling units and replacing/troubleshooting electrical control circuits.
  • Makes diagnoses to replace or repair parts and make adjustments.
  • Inspects machinery to insure proper operation.
  • Oversees major amount of work required for each electrical project.

  • Performs all minor welding.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to design and install electronic control circuits.
  • Understands national electrical code and safety lock out/tag out procedures.
  • Must be able to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available.
  • Moderate physical effort; frequently moving lightweight material in difficult work positions.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical logic.
  • Ability to perform general air conditioning service work.
  • Able and willing to attend school/seminars of specialized trade.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Requires 5 years experience in general maintenance with 3 years being Electrical specific.
