Job Summary

As a Senior 2D Game Artist, you will lead the visual direction of our games, collaborating with designers, developers, and product owners to create appealing art assets. Your work will enhance player experience and elevate the team's artistic quality. We are a fast-growing studio passionate about building high-quality, fun, and creative experiences across music and non-music games for players worldwide.

Must Have

  • Research references, analyze requirements, and define the overall visual style and art direction for each project.
  • Create characters that align with gameplay needs and are visually engaging.
  • Design and illustrate immersive environments such as backgrounds, stages, and dynamic visual elements.
  • Design icons, buttons, layouts, and menus that ensure clear and intuitive player interaction.
  • Work closely with game designers, developers, and product managers to set the visual direction of projects.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a 2D artist in the gaming industry.
  • Solid understanding of color, composition, visual storytelling, and user experience in games.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Spine or similar animation tools).
  • Ability to work with technical constraints and collaborate with developers.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong creative thinking, problem-solving, and ability to adapt to different art styles.

Good to Have

  • Ability to leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., for concept exploration, asset iteration, or workflow optimization).
  • Additional skills such as 3D modeling, animation, or particle effects.
  • Passion for games, with bonus points for love of rhythm/music games.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Senior 2D Game Artist, you will take the lead in shaping the visual direction of our games. You’ll work closely with game designers, developers, and product owners to create appealing art assets that enhance player experience and contribute to raising the overall artistic quality of the team’s output.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Concept Development: Research references, analyze requirements, and define the overall visual style and art direction for each project.
  • Character Design: Create characters that align with gameplay needs and are visually engaging.
  • Environment Design: Design and illustrate immersive environments such as backgrounds, stages, and dynamic visual elements that support the gaming experience
  • UI/UX Design: Design icons, buttons, layouts, and menus that ensure clear and intuitive player interaction.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, developers, and product managers to set the visual direction of projects.
  • Visual Effects: Contribute to VFX when necessary, in collaboration with the technical team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min 2+ years of experience as a 2D artist in the gaming industry (casual game experience preferred).
  • Ability to leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., for concept exploration, asset iteration, or workflow optimization) is a big plus.
  • Additional skills such as 3D modeling, animation, or particle effects are a plus.
  • Solid understanding of color, composition, visual storytelling, and user experience in games.
