Ozarks First in Springfield, Missouri, is seeking a Morning News Anchor/Multiskilled Journalist. This role involves being a newsroom leader and primary presenter, delivering clear, engaging content for newscasts, websites, and CTV apps. Responsibilities include presenting, writing, and producing news stories, ensuring journalistic integrity, acting as a field reporter, responding to breaking news, participating in promotions, and interacting on social media.

Must Have

  • Present news stories and other content for linear, digital, CTV App, and social.
  • Write and produce content for linear, digital, CTV App, and social.
  • Ensure all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Write and deliver news stories clearly and concisely.
  • Be a strong writer, copy editor, and researcher.
  • Act as a field reporter or field anchor as assigned.
  • Respond to breaking news and other urgent newsroom situations.
  • Participate in promotional activities, including public appearances.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in news reporting or anchoring.
  • Superior on-air presence.
  • Excellent news judgment with expansive knowledge of current events, history, newsmakers, and issues.
  • Proficiency with all newsroom technology.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

  • Ability to identify developmental needs and coach/mentor others.
  • Ability to effectively listen and communicate with a team to shape solutions.

  • Presents news stories and other content for linear, digital, CTV App, and social.
  • Writes and produces content for linear, digital, CTV App, and social.
  • Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Writes and delivers news stories clearly and concisely.
  • Strong writer, copy editor, and researcher.

  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Edits video clips as assigned.
  • Interact with viewers/users on social media sites.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to ad lib when required.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in news reporting or anchoring.
  • Superior on-air presence.
  • Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, and issues.
  • Experience guiding, directing, and motivating others.
