Job Description

KRQE Media Group—home to CBS, FOX, CW, My50, KRQE.com, KRQE Now, and a fast-growing portfolio of digital and social platforms—is looking for a Graphic Artist who believes visual storytelling is the heartbeat of modern media.

This isn’t a “make-it-look-nice” role. This is a chance to shape how our journalism, promotions, and partnerships look and feel across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social.

If you see design as a way to grab attention, clarify stories, and build brands—not just decorate them—we want to meet you!

What You’ll Create

You’ll be at the center of our visual engine, designing graphics that power:

  • On-air news and promotion across multiple stations
  • Digital, streaming, and social platforms
  • Sales presentations, sponsorships, and client collateral
  • Print materials for newspapers, magazines, programs, and special projects
  • Web graphics for KRQE.com and related digital properties

What You’ll Do

  • Conceptualize and design original graphics and animations that align with—and elevate—station brands.
  • Develop promotional graphics that support news, marketing, and programming initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Sales team to create compelling, brand-safe client collateral and sponsorship materials.
  • Design and produce print assets for external publications and internal initiatives.
  • Create web and digital graphics optimized for multiple platforms and screen sizes.
  • Assist in coordinating station photography for on-air talent, staff, and special projects.
  • Juggle multiple projects at once without losing speed, accuracy, or creativity.
  • Meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment—without sacrificing quality.

Who You Are

You’re a visual thinker who:

  • Has a strong design foundation and a sharp eye for layout, typography, color, and motion.
  • Understands how design translates across on-air, digital, and social platforms.
  • Is fluent in Adobe Creative Suite—especially Photoshop and Illustrator—and comfortable adapting to new tools.
  • Thrives under deadline pressure and knows how to prioritize without panic.
  • Communicates clearly, collaborates easily, and takes feedback as fuel—not friction.
  • Cares deeply about consistency, brand integrity, and visual storytelling.

What You Bring

  • Art Degree, Design, Broadcasting, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A portfolio that shows both creativity and discipline.
