Rackner is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SME) with over 10 years of experience in software engineering, cloud automation, and DevSecOps. This role involves designing and implementing secure, scalable, and compliant multi-cloud systems across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The engineer will architect, automate, and influence secure solutions, ensuring the highest standards for reliability and compliance (RMF, ATO, FedRAMP) in a hands-on technical leadership capacity.
Good To Have:- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd), or microservices architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- AWS or Azure certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
Must Have:- Architect and implement secure, scalable multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Design and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Crossplane.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation frameworks.
- Develop and support applications using Python, Go, or JavaScript for cloud-native environments.
- Implement and maintain compliance controls (RMF, ATO, FedRAMP) across infrastructure and code pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to drive automation, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers and champion best practices in cloud architecture and security.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in cloud, DevSecOps, and automation.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform, Crossplane, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP multi-cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Python and scripting tools (Bash, YAML, JSON).
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud security fundamentals.
- Familiarity with RMF, ATO, and FedRAMP compliance frameworks.
- Active Top Secret clearance (SCI Eligible).
- Ability to work hybrid (a few days per month onsite) in Charlottesville, VA or Arlington, VA.
