Western Digital is seeking a New Grad Planner for Production Control to develop and monitor daily build plans, ensuring execution and adjusting for delays to minimize customer impact. Must Have
- Provide Daily Build Plan based on Demand Requests and Optimization inputs.
- Monitor Production Plan Execution and adjust to minimize delivery impacts.
- Analyze and Adjust for Delays in the production process.
- Coordinate with the Demand Team for demand changes.
- Monitor KPIs related to production planning daily.
- Continually learn and apply best practices in inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all company rules, procedures, and safety protocols.

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Skill in Project Management.
- Effective negotiation and coordination skills.
- Good level of English proficiency (written/verbal).

- Internship or coursework experience related to production or material planning.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing operations and production planning processes.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Canva, and Generative AI tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Daily Build Plan: Develop and deliver daily build plans based on Demand Requests and Optimization inputs (material and capacity) from stakeholders.
- Monitor Production Plan Execution: Track and ensure that the production plan is being executed as planned, adjusting minimize delivery impacts to customers.
- Analyze and Adjust for Delays: Identify delays and disruptions in the production process and adjust the production schedule to meet delivery deadlines.
- Coordinate with the Demand Team: Collaborate with the demand team to address any demand changes, under the guidance of the leadership team.
- Monitor KPIs: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning on a daily basis to ensure goals are met.
- Inventory Management: Continually learn and apply best practices in inventory management to avoid excess inventory and reduce waste.
- Follow Company Procedures: Ensure compliance with all company rules, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Capacity Planning: Collaborate with various departments to forecast and plan for required production capacity based on upcoming demand and resource availability.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
PREFERRED:
- Internship or coursework experience related to production or material planning
- Basic understanding of manufacturing operations and production planning processes
SKILLS:
- Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with Power BI, Canva, and Generative AI tools
- Skill in Project Management
- Effective negotiation and coordination skills with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrate a good level of English proficiency (written/verbal)
