We are looking for an Operational Engineer Senior who will:
This position is responsible for the effective operation and support of functionalities for our cloud-based SaaS platform Ascendon. You will be playing the role of Operations Engineer, Senior with the Ascendon Core Billing (ACB) teams. This team is responsible for build-out of the Ascendon Core Billing component of Ascendon. The Ascendon Core Billing component is a SaaS-based, AWS Cloud Native, multi-tenanted Billing and Revenue Management system targeting B2C clients for the Telecommunication industry. Additionally, the team is responsible for the ongoing operational aspects of the Ascendon Core Billing component in a true DevOps manner. You will be part of a collaborative and motivated global team that builds innovative and progressive solutions for CSG's largest customers.
- Act as the first responder for production incidents and exceptions, ensuring quick triage and resolution of critical issues.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and architecture teams to improve observability, logging, and alerting across the application stack.
- Handle deployment and configuration of the ACB solution in production environments.
- Monitor the functionality and performance of the ACB solution and ensure uptime and reliability.
- Create and maintain operational playbooks and SOPs for recurring tasks and incident handling.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and DevOps activities.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow.
- Work closely with global teams and stakeholders across time zones to ensure seamless operations.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing and operating enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools – Azure DevOps preferred.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and relational databases like PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
- Experience in deploying and managing cloud-native applications using AWS services.
- Exposure to the telecom billing domain is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and customer support skills.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and handle production support.
