Job Summary
This 12-month fixed-term contract role as a People & Culture Business Partner at AECOM, based in Brisbane, supports a client group of approximately 250 team members across Australia. The role involves improving employee experience and managing a wide range of HR activities, including employee relations, performance management, culture and engagement, reward and talent management, leadership capability building, and change management. The successful candidate will contribute to both regional and global HR strategies, working closely with business leaders and HR specialists.
Must Have
- Support employee relations and performance management
- Drive culture and engagement initiatives
- Implement reward and talent management strategies
- Build leadership capability through coaching and support
- Facilitate and embed change management
- Lead and contribute to strategic HR projects
- Partner with leaders to continuously improve the employee experience
- Knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian Awards
- Experience handling HR queries on a broad range of issues
- Confidence in interpreting People Policies and providing advice to managers
- 5+ years’ experience working in Human Resources in a dynamic environment

- An effective communicator who builds strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with proven experience managing employee relations matters end-to-end
- Experience designing and executing organisational development projects
- Up to date with HR best practices and confident applying them in a commercial setting
- Accountable and responsive, with a strong sense of ownership for your work

About the role:
Due to maternity leave cover, this 12 month Fixed Term contract is available to join our diverse People & Culture team, based in our Brisbane office.
People and Culture Team has a diverse opportunity for an HR professional ready to step up into a bigger role.
We’re looking for a motivated People & Culture professional to support a client group of around 250 team members across our Australia offices. This role is ideal for an experienced Business Partner who’s ready to grow into a strategic role.
You’ll work closely with leaders to help improve the employee experience and support a wide range of HR activities, including:
- Employee Relations and Performance Management
- Culture and Engagement Initiatives
- Reward and Talent Management Strategies
- Building Leadership Capability through coaching and support
- Facilitating and embedding change management
- Leading and contributing to strategic HR projects
- Partnering with leaders to continuously improve the employee experience
How you’ll make a difference:
In addition to partnering with business leaders within key client groups, you will work as part of a core team of HR Specialists both regionally and nationally. Reporting to the People & Culture Lead, you will actively contribute to the implementation and operation of the Australia New Zealand HR Strategy and will support and assist the effective implementation of our Global HR Strategy.
You will be responsible for all facets of People and Culture business partnering, including:
- Employee Relations
- Performance, Reward & Talent Management
- Building the people management capabilities of our leaders
- Developing organisational development programs
- Facilitating and supporting change management
- Leading and supporting HR projects
- Working with managers to improve our employee experience.
Qualifications
You will have knowledge of the Fair Work Act and Australian Awards and experience handling HR queries on a broad range of issues. You will be confident interpreting People Policies and providing advice to managers. Ideally you would have 5+ years’ experience working in Human Resources in a dynamic environment.
