Overview
#LI-FD1
Are you a seasoned Performance expert passionate about driving measurable results and shaping the future of iconic brands? Do you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your strategic insights lead to tangible success?
Join one of the world's leading communications companies, where innovation meets influence. We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Performance Director to elevate our digital strategy and execution across Search, Social, and broader digital channels for our diverse portfolio of clients.
This is more than just a role; it's an opportunity to lead, innovate, and grow within a supportive and forward-thinking agency network. If you’re ready to push boundaries, empower teams, and deliver outstanding performance, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do & How You'll Make an Impact:
As the Performance Director, you'll be at the forefront of digital excellence, merging strategic vision with hands-on expertise. Your days will be a dynamic mix of leadership, innovation, and client partnership:
- Strategic Visionary & Business Growth Driver: Lead the development of cutting-edge digital strategies, translating business goals into actionable channel recommendations and innovative solutions. You'll identify opportunities for business growth, cross-departmental revenue within the agency, and proactively seek out and support new business ventures, including pitches. You'll also prepare comprehensive media plan options, analyses, and recommendations based on strategic direction.
- Performance Optimiser & Implementer: Oversee digital campaign implementation and optimisation across a diverse channel mix, including Paid Search (SEM), Display, Paid Social, Retargeting, and Affiliates. You'll maintain rigorous budget control, frequently evaluate performance, and continuously optimise campaigns to deliver optimum results and online sign-ups for your clients.
- Insight Generator & Business Analyst: Leverage your deep understanding of Google Analytics (GA4) and internal data systems to extract powerful insights, conduct accurate forecasting, and recommend sophisticated digital attribution and channel mix strategies. You'll also examine the full view of our client’s businesses – including sales, merchandising, marketing, and operations – to provide data-driven insights to relevant teams.
- Client Partner & Risk Manager: Build and nurture strong, trusted relationships with clients, acting as the primary escalation point for any account issues. You’ll articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively and proactively recognise and communicate potential risks to client relationships, agency scope, and revenue impact to senior leadership.
- Team Leader & Mentor: Foster a vibrant culture of inter-agency collaboration, ensuring the quality of your team's output. You'll manage resource allocation, monitor and enhance team efficiency and productivity, and develop a team vision that inspires a results driven, innovative, and proactive mentality. You'll ensure the team has a deep understanding of the role of all media channels (not just digital) in delivering client objectives and develop their knowledge of digital vendors and their offerings.
- Team Development Focus: You will actively coach, mentor, and develop your direct reports (Managers/Executives) in the art of Performance Marketing, Stratalytics, Analytics, and broader Business Skills. This includes driving performance conversations, conducting monthly check-ins on goals and KPIs, and facilitating deliverables to ensure tasks are completed effectively. You'll champion training in Stratalytics and Analytics to upskill the team and roll out best practices.
- Quality & Process Guardian: Ensure robust processes are in place, troubleshoot issues effectively, and deliver concise, timely, and insightful campaign reporting. You'll monitor and enforce these processes within the team, ensuring the monthly resource plan is completed and provided to the Head Of Performance in a timely manner.
- Innovation Champion: Drive proactive initiatives, challenge the status quo, and identify new opportunities to push each channel to its full potential for growth-minded clients. You'll consider the broader impact of decisions or changes on the business, raising these with management to ensure adequate responses.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
We're looking for a leader who embodies our values of collaboration, innovation, and client obsession. Ideally, you’ll have:
- 7+ years of experience in digital implementation within a fast-paced agency environment.
- Proven expertise in Paid Search (Google Ads, Bing Ads), Paid Social (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads etc.), Display, Retargeting, and a strong understanding of other digital channels.
- Advanced proficiency in analytics and campaign management platforms, including Google Analytics (GA4), Google Ads (Certifications highly valued), SA360, and Facebook Business Manager.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a track record of translating data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Outstanding project management and organisational capabilities, with the ability to prioritise multiple requests and meet tight deadlines effectively.
- Superior communication skills (verbal and written) – adept at explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influencing stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset and a natural ability to think creatively, 'outside the box,' and drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop holistic digital services and strategies.
- A high attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellence.
