Job Description:
Principal Product Manager – Platform Foundation
Location: Palo Alto or Mt View CA onsite 2-3 days/week (hybrid)
As Principal Product Manager for the Platform Foundation, you are responsible for the Product Management of the underlying platform and infrastructure that support Uniphore Products and the Uniphore Business AI Cloud.
This role is critical to scaling our platform, ensuring its reliability, performance, and operational excellence. You’ll partner closely with engineering, SRE, security, and architecture teams to define the product capabilities that power our services—from hyperscaler integrations and compute orchestration to monitoring, telemetry, and incident management. You will also partner closely with other Product Managers within Uniphore to understand, prioritize and align roadmap dependencies, delivery and launch plans.
You will work on developing the platform vision, strategy, roadmap, scalability, flexibility, maintainability, and cost effectiveness of the platform. You will be able to balance business needs, product requirements, delivery costs with technical constraints and love building a scalable platform to accelerate bringing new products and AI agents to market and to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the product roadmap for cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, compute, storage, and networking platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud-native tooling).
- Define requirements for running services efficiently and reliably across public clouds (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), National Cloud Providers, or hybrid and on-prem deployments and help inform strategic decision making on regional expansion and operations.
- Drive cross-cloud architecture choices (e.g., multi-region, multi-cloud, disaster recovery) in line with availability, latency, scalability, and cost goals.
- Partner with Engineering, DevOps and SRE teams to set and prioritize reliability goals (e.g., SLOs, SLIs), incident prevention strategies, and scaling requirements.
- Champion reliability and operational best practices that enable development teams to build and ship with confidence and treat infrastructure capabilities (e.g., deployments, secrets, access control, failover mechanisms) as internal products to support developer personas.
- Drive product thinking into infrastructure-level controls like encryption, access management, and secure-by-default configurations.
- Define product requirements for platform-wide observability, including logs, metrics, traces, and health dashboards.
- Evaluate and build business cases for foundational platform services, APIs, infrastructure, and technologies including determinization of whether we should build, buy or partner
- Work with Engineering & Delivery teams to productize operational visibility and enable proactive incident detection and root cause analysis.
- Collect feedback from engineering teams to continuously improve the usability and efficiency of infrastructure services.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure platform features meet data protection, audit, and policy enforcement requirements.
- Act as the product lead for infrastructure and reliability across engineering, balancing technical depth with business alignment. Support Customer & Sales conversations where platform & infrastructure topics require Product subject matter expertise.
- Communicate platform roadmaps, priorities, and tradeoffs to executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners and develop and monitor appropriate metrics and tracking of platform initiatives and ensure reporting to stakeholders
Required Skills / Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science/IT Engineering or related fields
- 8+ years of experience in delivering SaaS based / web-based products with 5+ years of Product Management experience
- Deep understanding of cloud computing fundamentals, data center virtualization, modern CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, monitoring & observability fundamentals, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong analytical and prioritization skills with a bias for delivering platform value to internal engineering users.
- Ability to collaborate with deeply technical teams and excellent written oral communication to communicate clearly with leadership and other stakeholders.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think big while paying careful attention to detail
