Job Summary
This role is crucial for CAE's success, focusing on driving the company forward through dedicated expertise. The Project Manager will lead multiple projects, developing comprehensive management plans and establishing clear goals for initiatives of medium complexity and significant financial impact. Responsibilities include coordinating technical activities, managing human, financial, and operational resources, and ensuring contractual compliance and profitability. The incumbent will also contribute to improvement initiatives and provide daily leadership to team members, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying new business opportunities.
Must Have
- Collaborate with the training center site manager to ensure overall quality of the training delivery, the site contractual performance, the planning, the organizing, the scheduling and general activity coordination.
- Coordinate technical activities of project.
- Develop project management plan and establish goals and objectives for projects of medium complexity and larger financial impact.
- Manage the human, financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual and company related obligations of the project to ensure profitability.
- Resolve project work/scheduling problems by reprioritizing activities.
- Evaluate potential project risk and develop mitigation plan.
- Implement project work breakdown structure.
- Control project schedule and cost.
- Use project management best practices and apply company policies, processes and procedures in managing projects.
- Display client centricity in each interaction with the customer.
- Execute the project review cycle process.
- Analyze and validate budget changes.
- Monitor and control the billing milestones schedule.
- Validate and approve budget and schedule change orders.
- Maintain the project budget at completion.
- Manage the project forecasts.
- Analyze overall project financial performance, remaining work, submit saving/increase during monthly review cycle in Planisware (PRC).
- Accountable to meet project budget gross margin, expected revenue and finds efficiencies.
- Act as primary liaison with customer on project matters including negotiations and securing customer acceptance.
- Prepare and present with training center site manager regular customer reports and briefing as well as annual presentation.
- Discuss alternative solutions with customer including contractual changes.
- Deliver results which achieve lasting satisfaction with customer and achieve financial goals.
- Identify business opportunities with customer and propose solution to address customer needs.
- University degree (Business Administration, Commerce, or in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Applied Sciences or a related field of study).
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 7 years flight simulator technical experience.
- PMP certification.
- Knowledge of product lifecycle, project management and earned value management (EVM).
- Knowledge of CAE technical and operational practices, procedures and products.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Good Clearance.
- Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit.
Good to Have
- PMP certification or equivalent accreditation is an asset.
- Third language is an asset.

Position Overview
In this role, the Project Manager will be assigned to multiple projects and will develop project management plan and establish project goals and objectives for projects of medium complexity and larger financial impact. The incumbent will also recommend and participate in improvement initiatives as well as provide day-to-day leadership for team members.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Project Execution
- Collaborate with the training center site manager to ensure overall quality of the training delivery, the site contractual performance, the planning, the organizing, the scheduling and general activity coordination.
- Coordinate technical activities of project.
- Develop project management plan and establish goals and objectives for projects of limited scope and financial impact.
- Work on problems of diverse scope where a better understanding of theory and broader knowledge is required.
- Validate or monitor projects to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Manage the human, financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual and company related obligations of the project to ensure profitability.
- Resolve project work/scheduling problems by reprioritizing activities.
- Evaluate potential project risk and develop mitigation plan.
- Implement project work breakdown structure.
- Control project schedule and cost.
- Use project management best practices and apply company policies, processes and procedures in managing projects.
- Displays client centricity in each interaction with the customer and ensures the same focus is relayed throughout CAE’s organization
Finance
- Execute the project review cycle process.

Customer Interaction
- May act as primary liaison with customer on project matters including negotiations and securing customer acceptance.
- Prepare and present with training center site manager regular customer reports and briefing as well as annual presentation.

- Deliver results which achieve lasting satisfaction with customer and achieve financial goals.
- Identify business opportunities with customer and propose solution to address customer needs
Leadership
- Recommend and participate in improvement initiatives.
- Make recommendations regarding recruiting and other human resources activities
Required Experience & Qualifications
- University degree (Business Administration, Commerce, or in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Applied Sciences or a related field of study)
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 7 years flight simulator technical experience
