Job Summary
Chainguard is seeking a highly motivated Public Sector Account Executive with strong Canadian Federal and SLED knowledge to build relationships and evangelize Secure Software Supply Chains. This role is a founding part of the Public Sector team, focusing on establishing a presence within Federal customer accounts. The ideal candidate is passionate about being a business owner, customer experience, and the Federal mission. Chainguard provides a secure foundation for software development by offering guarded open-source software to eliminate supply chain threats.
Must Have
- Define and execute account plans for Canada Federal and SLED territory.
- Drive adoption of Chainguard Images to new customers.
- Evangelize value proposition and ROI to prospects.
- Position as a trusted advisor within government programs.
- Champion offerings with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal business functions for customer experience.
- Leverage community, partner ecosystems, and marketing for growth.
- Forecast accurately to meet and exceed quota.
- Manage business and track opportunities in SFDC and other supporting tools.
- 8+ years of Enterprise Sales Experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to clients (25%).
- Entrepreneurial, Founder Mindset.
- Proven track record in Software SaaS subscription sales.
- Strong sales aptitude and fundamental understanding of the sales process.
- Sound, tech-savvy business acumen.
- Ability to articulate a compelling value proposition.
- Ability to thrive in an agile environment.

- Domain experience with Compute platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Domain experience with DevOps Tooling

Skills/Job Requirements:
- Define and Execute Account plan for the (Canada Federal and SLED) territory
- Drive the adoption of Chainguard Images to new customers within Accounts
- Evangelize the value proposition and ROI to prospects and leads
- Position yourself as a trusted advisor within a government program to effect change
- Champion our offerings with key stakeholders to drive a project’s future state
- Collaborate with internal business functions to ensure an exceptional customer experience
- Leverage community, partner ecosystems, and marketing to drive significant growth
- Forecast accurately to meet and exceed quota
- Manage business and track opportunities in SFDC and other supporting tools
Candidate Background:
- 8+ years of Enterprise Sales Experience required
- Competitive/Driven/Doer but Team Player
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Must be willing to travel to clients to support sales relationships (25%)
- Entrepreneurial, Founder Mindset – Strong work ethic, resourceful, and creative
Desired Qualifications:
- A proven track record in Software SaaS subscription sales, evidenced by quota overachievement and strong Federal customer references
- A strong sales aptitude and fundamental understanding of the sales process
- A sound, tech-savvy business acumen and the ability to articulate a compelling value proposition in a complex and evolving business environment
- Ability to thrive in an agile environment with an ever-evolving set of solutions
Bonus Points:
- Startup experience
- Domain experience with one or more of the following: Compute platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), DevOps Tooling, CICD platforms (Github, Gitlab, Jenkins) and overall SDLC.
Compensation: $350,000 OTE (50/50)
