Job Description
Your Mission:
As a QA Tester, you will be a key partner, integrated into the heart of our production teams. You will be the guarantor of quality on several of our projects (PC, consoles, mobile) in an Agile and reactive environment.
Your main mission will be to act as a "gatekeeper" of quality: you will validate the development team's work before it is integrated, thus ensuring the daily stability of our projects.
Your Responsibilities:
- Feature Validation (Pull Requests): Your most critical task. You will test and validate each feature (Pull Request) in direct collaboration with the development team. You will ensure that the acceptance criteria of the JIRA story are met before approving the merge to the main branch.
- Execution & Analysis: In addition to PRs, execute exploratory tests to identify complex problems. Help isolate their cause (logs, debug tools).
- Test Planning: Develop and maintain robust test plans for new features, game systems, and non-regression tests.
- Bug Management: Ensure rigorous tracking of issues in JIRA (creation, prioritization, verification of fixes).
- External QA Support: Communicate daily with our external QA partners to inform them of builds ready for testing. Serve as a technical point of contact to provide context on features and game areas ready for testing, and answer their questions about implementation or test plans.
- Agile Integration: Actively participate in the life of development teams (daily scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives) to anticipate testing needs.
- Multi-platform: Ensure functional and regression testing on PC, consoles, and mobile.
- Documentation: Write and maintain clear test documentation (test cases, checklists).
Qualifications
Your Profile (Required Skills):
- Communication: You communicate with precision and clarity, in French as well as in English, to constructively challenge acceptance criteria if necessary.
- Experience: You have at least 2 years of QA experience in video games, including significant experience (1 year+) directly in a development team.
- Tools: You master JIRA (or similar) and a test case management tool (TestRail, Xray, or even G-Suite/Excel).
- Test Execution: You know how to create a test plan from specifications (or in their absence) and write test cases that others can follow.
- Methodology: You are familiar with Agile (Scrum/Kanban): You understand the importance of testing early and often, and the concept of feature validation.
The Pluses (Appreciated Skills):
- Ability to work autonomously and juggle priorities across multiple projects.
- Experience with a game engine (e.g., Unity, Unreal).
- Knowledge of certification requirements (TRC, TCR, XR) for at least one console platform (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft) or Apple Arcade.
- Experience with test automation tools dedicated to video games.
- Demonstrated experience in testing on mobile platforms (iOS via TestFlight, Android) and their specificities.
- Knowledge of the localization QA process.
- Experience on the Steam platform (Steamworks).
- Direct experience with source control tools (Github, Perforce, Gitea etc.) and CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, Jenkins etc.).
