R&D Physical Design Engineer

Broadcom is seeking an R&D Physical Design Engineer with a strong background in Physical Design implementation, including floor planning, placement, design closure, STA, and DRC & LVS skills. The ideal candidate will be able to handle block implementation/top-level tasks independently and possess tapeout experience in 7nm and below process design. This role requires a good understanding of ASIC design flow and solid VLSI background, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Must Have

• Strong background in Physical Design implementation
• Proficiency in floor planning, placement, design closure, STA, DRC, and LVS
• Ability to handle block implementation/top-level tasks independently
• Tapeout experience in 7nm and below process design
• Good understanding of ASIC design flow and solid VLSI background
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Perl/Tcl

Good to Have

• Experience running full chip signoff tasks including PI, SI, PV, and STA
• Experience in DFT insertion
• Experience in Power/IVD analysis
• Experience in DRC/LVS
• Experience in STA

Job Description:

Physical Design Implementation: An ideal candidate having strong background in either the Physical Design which includes floor planning, placement, design closure, STA, and DRC & LVS skills. Overall, candidates are expected to develop the most of above skills. Candidates who have the desire to seek the in-depth and broad technical challenge should apply. It would be better if the candidate have the experience running full chip signoff tasks including PI, SI, PV and STA.

• Candidate is good at Perl/Tcl

Education/Certifications

Preferred Degree: 7+ years MS Preferred

Major: Microelectronics or related discipline
