Job Description
The R&D Trainee will be an integral part of Valeo's research and development team, supporting innovative projects from conception to implementation within the automotive electrical systems domain. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, assisting senior engineers in the design, development, and testing of new electrical components. Responsibilities include conducting research on emerging technologies, participating in experimental setups, data collection, and analysis, and preparing technical documentation. The trainee will collaborate with cross-functional teams and learn Valeo's R&D methodologies, contributing to cutting-edge technologies for greener, safer, and smarter mobility.
Good To Have:
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink)
- Spanish proficiency
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- Strong academic record
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, and embedded systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn new technologies and concepts
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required

Job Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and testing of new electrical components and systems for automotive applications.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies, materials, and processes relevant to Valeo's product portfolio.
- Participate in experimental setups, data collection, and analysis, contributing to design validation and optimization.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations detailing project progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and project management, to ensure successful project execution.
- Learn and apply Valeo's R&D methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Support the continuous improvement of existing products and processes.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. (Candidates pursuing their final year of studies with an anticipated graduation within 6-12 months will also be considered).
- Strong academic record.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, and embedded systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn new technologies and concepts.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; Spanish proficiency is a strong asset.
