Job Summary

Room 8 Group is seeking a Render Developer (Entry / Middle) to join their Engineering team. This full-time, remote position in Europe, Ukraine, involves implementing and maintaining rendering features in a proprietary game engine. The role focuses on optimizing rendering systems for console platforms like PS5 and Xbox, working with modern rendering techniques, and improving GPU performance. Candidates should have C++ experience, an understanding of modern graphics APIs, and a passion for real-time graphics and game engine development.

Must Have

  • Experience with C++ and an interest in low-level graphics programming.
  • Understanding of modern graphics APIs such as Vulkan, DirectX 11/12, Metal.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of rendering concepts: lighting, shadows, post-processing, shading, and scene management.
  • Familiarity with GPU debugging and profiling tools (RenderDoc, PIX, Nsight) or willingness to learn them quickly.
  • Understanding of performance considerations on CPU and GPU.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers and technical artists.
  • A passion for rendering technologies, real-time graphics, and game engine development.

  • Assist in adapting and optimizing rendering systems for console platforms such as PS5 and Xbox.
  • Work with modern rendering techniques (TAA, FSR, temporal systems, dynamic resolution) and help integrate them across platforms.
  • Profile and improve GPU performance under the supervision of more experienced team members.
  • Collaborate with technical artists by supporting tools, workflows, and improvements to the rendering pipeline.
  • Participate in debugging and improving visual fidelity and stability across different hardware platforms.

Job Description

Room 8 Group is an end-to-end strategic partner in external game development. Working across all platforms, we provide creative and technical expertise across game development, technology, art, trailers, and QA for AAA and AA games.

Our Game Development team provides comprehensive co-dev and full-cycle dev solutions, across all platforms. We’ve helped make some of the biggest games of the past decade, like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and III, and we work with dozens of the world’s biggest publishers and developers.

Through primarily organic growth, we are proudly independent, now home to around 1,100 creatives based in Europe, North America, and South America.
