Job Summary

Runners at DNEG play a central role in the smooth running of the studio, supporting the team with facilities-based duties while learning about the company and VFX industry. This full-time, 40-hour-a-week entry-level role offers a pathway to VFX Production or Artist positions. Responsibilities include front-of-house support, assisting staff and visitors, managing office tidiness, handling post, and maintaining communal areas. Candidates should be proactive, strong communicators, and team players with an interest in film and VFX.

Must Have

  • Assisting staff with any questions or queries they might have
  • Greeting Visitors and directing them to the correct contact
  • Ensuring visitors sign in at the front desk
  • Helping the facilities team with tasks around the office
  • Ensuring the front of house of the building is kept tidy and presentable at all times
  • Manage post in and out
  • Keeping the kitchens, meeting rooms and rest areas clean, tidy and well presented
  • Taking initiative to manage stocks and supplies, arranging orders where necessary
  • Assisting with greatly Portland street tenants in the London office
  • Assisting with client meetings
  • Assisting with refreshments for staff and client meetings
  • Assisting with events
  • Screening phone calls and taking messages where needed
  • Answering email queries
  • Assisting with meeting and screening room bookings
  • Taking a lead role in suggesting ideas for process improvements for the Reception desk

Good to Have

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Knowledge of Google suite (sheets, gmail, docs etc)
  • Keen interest in the film industry and VFX
  • Studied VFX based course

Runners at DNEG play a central role in the smooth running of the studio. They support the DNEG team with any facilities-based duties while learning about the company and VFX industry. This is a full-time, 40 hours a week role that will give you the grounding and skills you need to succeed in VFX Production or an Artist role once you move up.

What is the career route for a Runner at DNEG?

Our Runners are looking to move into VFX Production roles or an Artist role. Starting as a Runner, you will learn about the business from every angle and when the opportunity for growth arises you can then move into a Production Assistant or a Junior Artist role on your first show. Then it's onwards and upwards until your name is in the credits alongside an amazing team of talented people!

Once you are promoted, you will work closely with your department and team. Tasks might include event planning, scheduling, managing resources and solving problems, or learning and being mentored by Senior Artists to excel in the basics of your artistic department to eventually have more and more ownership of creative tasks.

Those who aim to pursue a career in VFX will need to have excellent communication skills, be proactive, be able to manage their time accordingly, multi-task, and work well under pressure. This running role will help to strengthen these soft skills!

About the role:
