Job Summary

DreamWorks Animation is seeking a Script Coordinator to manage the daily workflow for its writing staff. This role involves taking notes during various meetings, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of executive notes, generating and conforming scripts for recording sessions, and coordinating schedules with other departments. The position requires strong organizational skills and a keen interest in children's television, particularly preschool animation, with a minimum of 1 year experience in TV animation production.

Must Have

  • Take notes during writer’s meetings, story note meetings, and animatic reviews
  • Ensure executive notes are transcribed, saved, and distributed
  • Generate physical scripts for recording sessions, pickup, and ADR sheets
  • Take notes during records and distribute
  • Conform scripts to edited dialogue and action of locked animatic, locked picture, and final mixed picture
  • Proofread, file, catalogue, and distribute all premises, outlines, script drafts and revisions
  • Update and organize files and database of all premises, outlines and drafts of each script
  • Track pickup and ADR lines
  • Work in conjunction with Line Producer, Casting, Music, and Talent Relations to schedule cast records efficiently
  • Flag potential writing and scheduling issues to Line Producer and/or Production Manager
  • Stay abreast of notes meetings and regularly elevate information appropriately
  • Coordinate the writing schedule and distribute and update the weekly script status report
  • Track and provide cast list with line counts for script drafts
  • Working knowledge of Final Draft, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite
  • Minimum 1 year of prior experience in TV animation production
  • Strong interest in children’s television programming, particularly preschool animation
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones, adapting schedules as needed
  • New York–based position offering hybrid flexibility

Job Description

  • Take notes during writer’s meetings, story note meetings, and animatic reviews

  • Responsible for proofreading, filing, cataloguing, and distributing all premises, outlines, script drafts and revisions
  • Update and organize files and database of all premises, outlines and drafts of each script, including submissions.
  • Track pickup and ADR lines.
  • Work in conjunction with the Line Producer, Casting, Music, and Talent Relations departments to schedule cast records efficiently
  • Flag potential writing and scheduling issues to Line Producer and/or Production Manager.
  • Stay abreast of notes meetings and regularly elevate information appropriately to Line Producer and/or Production Manager.
  • Coordinate the writing schedule and distribute and update the weekly script status report; give script progress updates at regular production meetings.
  • Track and provide cast list with line counts for script drafts to other production staff.
  • Working knowledge of Final Draft, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: “What do I need to have in order to do this job?”

  • Minimum 1 year of prior experience in TV animation production.
  • Strong interest in children’s television programming, particularly preschool animation.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones, adapting schedules as needed.
  • New York–based position offering hybrid flexibility (remote and Midtown office), with periodic travel for in-person meetings and recording sessions.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary Range: $66,300 - $73,000
