Job Summary
We are looking for a Section Manager to lead our project manager team within industrial construction. At AFRY, we advise on all facets of construction – from idea to delivery. Across all projects, our ambition is to promote both sustainability and digitalization. As our new Section Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing the team. You will be responsible for approximately 20 employees and be part of the management team in Industrial Building. Your tasks will include developing, hiring, and leading the team, providing professional sparring, finding solutions to technical challenges, ensuring customer satisfaction, promoting sustainable solutions, and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Must Have
- Experience with leadership, consulting, and project management

- Generally helping to ensure visibility in the market

- Education as an engineer, architect, construction manager or equivalent
- Experience with industrial construction
- Experience with project management in a consulting engineering company
- Desire for and experience with personnel management in a knowledge-based company, where employee competence development is highly valued
- Ability to maintain an overview of resources and competencies and create structure for yourself and others
- Flair for building and nurturing customer relationships

About the tasks
There will be a strong focus on professional leadership in this role. You must therefore be able to bring your own experience into play – both through sparring with the team, in the development of your employees, and in relation to your sales and budget responsibility.
You will be responsible for the approximately 20 employees currently in the team and will be part of the management team in Industrial Building. On a daily basis, you will report to Head of Project Execution, Peter Christensen. Your permanent workplace will be at our office in Aarhus, Herning, or Herlev – depending on your own location. You must be prepared for travel activity between our offices and prioritize present leadership.
In your daily work, you will, among other things, work with:
- development, recruitment, and leadership, including professional sparring with the team.
- finding solutions to technical challenges, creating results, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting sustainable solutions
- leading a highly qualified team of specialists
- based on your own market profile, establishing contact with potential customers and contributing to the sale of projects and generally helping to ensure visibility in the market
- collaborating with key stakeholders including the executive board and the various business units in AFRY
Qualifications
We imagine that you will fit well into the job if you:
- have an education as an engineer, architect, construction manager or equivalent, as well as experience with industrial construction
- have experience with project management in a consulting engineering company
- have a desire for and experience with personnel management in a knowledge-based company, where employee competence development is highly valued.
- are able to maintain an overview of resources and competencies and create structure for yourself and others
- have a flair for building and nurturing customer relationships.
