This role is crucial for delivering top-quality seeds globally by ensuring optimal coating to protect against fungi/diseases. The operator will manage seed coating machines, respond to malfunctions, perform preventive maintenance, ensure seed quality, and contribute to process improvements. The position involves coordinating small projects and maintaining accurate process data.

Must Have

From our location in Enkhuizen, both flower and vegetable seeds are supplied to customers worldwide. Our Plant handles the receipt, cleaning, treatment, packaging, and shipping of these seeds. As a Seed Coating Operator, you play a crucial role in delivering top-quality seeds to customers around the world.

In the coating department, the seed receives a color, mainly to protect the seed against fungi/diseases when it is in the ground.

The challenge

With your keen eye for detail and focus on quality, you ensure that every seed receives the optimal coating, thereby improving the performance and yields of crops worldwide. You guide small projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes. These will be your tasks and responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor seed coating machines
• Timely and adequate response to malfunctions and performing preventive maintenance to ensure smooth production processes.
• Ensuring the quality and purity of the seed during the process
• Proactively identifying improvement opportunities and implementing them
• Maintaining an overview of ongoing work and processes
• Guiding and coordinating small projects within the department
• Collaborating with colleagues to increase efficiency and quality

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you have:

• MBO work and thinking level, preferably in a technical or agricultural direction
• Experience as an operator in a production environment is a plus, but not required
• Affinity with operating and maintaining machines and equipment
• Strong motivation to learn and genuine interest in seed production processes
• Accuracy and ability to follow procedures in a regulated environment
• Availability to be on call once every 7 weeks for 1 week
• Good command of the Dutch language and strong communicative skills
