Job Summary
Frima is looking for a Senior 3C Expert Designer for mobile shooters to enhance its game design team. The role involves proposing and evolving high-level 3C solutions for Character, Controls, and Camera systems, analyzing existing 3C foundations, and recommending improvements based on competitive mobile shooter standards. The designer will prototype mechanics, collaborate with various teams, act as a 3C reference, mentor junior designers, and improve project processes.
Must Have
- Propose and evolve high-level 3C solutions for Character, Controls, and Camera systems.
- Analyze existing 3C foundations and identify gameplay, responsiveness, and ergonomics issues.
- Make design decisions on 3C systems, supported by data and best practices.
- Design, prototype, and iterate 3C mechanics.
- Collaborate closely with production, Lead design, and gameplay, UI, UX, data, and tech teams.
- Act as the 3C reference point for the project.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in video game design.
- Proficiency in 3D level editors, Unreal Engine, scripting, and modeling tools.
- Experience in launching a highly successful shooter game.
- Excellent command of French and English (written and oral).
- Portfolio demonstrating achievements.

- Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously and manage priorities.
- Demonstrated curiosity in new technologies.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills and great ease in communicating ideas.

Job Description
What your weeks will look like
- Propose and evolve high-level 3C solutions for Character, Controls, and Camera systems, respecting the game's vision, multiplatform constraints, partner expectations, and the reality of the current project;
- Analyze existing 3C foundations, quickly identify gameplay, responsiveness, and ergonomics issues, then recommend concrete improvements based on competitive mobile shooter standards;
- Make design decisions on 3C systems, supported by data and best practices, in collaboration with the Lead Designer or Game Director for major strategic orientations;
- Design, prototype, and iterate 3C mechanics to validate design hypotheses, support the team in implementation, and ensure a solid, coherent, and competitive experience;
- Work in close collaboration with production, Lead Design, and the gameplay, UI, UX, data, and tech teams to ensure fluid integration of 3C systems and constant alignment with the partner;
- Act as the 3C reference point for the project and contribute to maintaining a long-term product vision.
- Support and develop the team's designers, sharing your expertise and helping to overcome complex blockers;
- Contribute to the development of the design community through mentorship, continuous training, and the dissemination of best practices adapted to mobile shooter productions.
- Improve project 3C processes and standards, document learnings, and propose reusable approaches;
- Participate in retrospectives and reviews.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
- College diploma in video game design or other related diploma combined with equivalent experience;
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in video game design;
- Proficiency in design tools: 3D level editors, Unreal Engine, scripting and modeling tools;
- Experience in launching a highly successful shooter game.
- Good command of French and English (oral and written);
- Presentation of a portfolio demonstrating your achievements (French or English, English strongly recommended).
- Excellent command of French and English (written and oral). English skills are required for the work as we collaborate with English-speaking partners.
- Available for international travel if needed.
