Job Summary
Frima is seeking a Senior UI Designer to join its design team. With over 20 years of creative audacity, Frima has been recognized as one of Canada's best video game employers. The role involves proposing functional and high-level design solutions, actively participating in artistic reviews, making decisions based on research, designing functional prototypes, animating interface elements, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure game experience consistency. The designer will also mentor UI designers and contribute to the evolution of UI tools and methods.
Must Have
- Propose functional and high-level design solutions adapted to project constraints.
- Actively participate in artistic reviews and ideation sessions.
- Make ergonomic and user experience decisions based on research, data, and best practices.
- Design functional prototypes to test and validate user experience with the team.
- Animate interface elements and ensure their harmonious integration into the game engine.
- Be a primary contact for UI issues, internally and with external partners.
- Actively participate in progress meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
- Supervise and support UI designers, offering guidance and sharing best practices.
- Contribute to the evolution of UI tools, templates, and working methods.
- Participate in project retrospectives to improve future UI processes.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in UI design.
- Demonstrated experience in interface design on AAA projects.
- Experience in team mentoring.
- Experience in interface development with Unreal 5.X.
- Ability to design interfaces for different audiences and platforms (console, PC, mobile).
- Understanding of technical constraints related to game production.
- Strong understanding of user behavior and interface ergonomics.
- Excellent command of Figma.
- English language skills are required.
- Available to travel internationally if needed.

- Autonomy and sense of responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary collaboration context.

Job Description
What your weeks will look like
- Propose functional and high-level design solutions, adapted to project constraints;
- Actively participate in artistic reviews and ideation sessions;
- Make ergonomic and user experience decisions based on research, data, and best practices;
- Design functional prototypes to test and validate the user experience with the team;
- Animate certain interface elements and ensure their harmonious integration into the game engine used;
- Be a primary point of contact for UI issues on the project, both internally and with the external partner;
- Actively participate in progress meetings and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure consistency and fluidity in the game experience.
- Supervise and support UI designers by offering them guidance and sharing best practices;
- Contribute to the evolution of tools, templates, and working methods used in UI within the studio;
- Participate in project retrospectives and draw lessons to improve future UI processes.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
- College diploma in graphic design, UX/UI design, digital arts, or other related diploma combined with equivalent experience;
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in UI design or any other relevant experience;
- Demonstrated experience in interface design on AAA projects;
- Experience in team mentoring;
- Experience in interface development with Unreal 5.X.;
- Ability to design interfaces for different audiences and platforms (console, PC, mobile);
- Understanding of technical constraints related to game production;
- Strong understanding of user behavior and interface ergonomics;
- Excellent command of Figma;
- English language skills are required for the work as we collaborate with English-speaking partners.
- Available to travel internationally if needed.
