Job Summary
Frima is seeking a Senior Technical UI Designer to elevate its design team. This role involves proposing functional design solutions for UI technical foundations, prototyping user experiences, animating interface elements in Unreal Engine, and acting as a primary contact for UI technical issues. The designer will also mentor UI designers, collaborate on UI development pipelines, and contribute to improving studio UI practices. Frima offers a flexible work environment, including remote options, and a focus on employee well-being.
Must Have
- Propose functional design solutions for UI technical foundations
- Conceive functional prototypes to test user experience
- Animate interface elements within Unreal Engine
- Act as a primary contact for UI technical issues (internal and external)
- Actively participate in progress meetings and collaborate with other disciplines
- Supervise and support UI designers, sharing best practices
- Develop the UI development pipeline in Unreal with technological leadership
- Participate in project retrospectives to improve future UI processes
- Contribute to the evolution of UI tools, templates, and work methods
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in UI design or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in technical interface design on AAA projects
- Experience in team mentoring
- Experience in technical interface development and good experience with Unreal 5.X
- Ability to design interfaces for different audiences and platforms (console, PC, mobile)
- Excellent command of creation tools (Figma, Photoshop or equivalents)
- Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken)

- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, explaining choices, and maintaining healthy working relationships
- Actively staying up-to-date on new technologies and methods, with a constant desire to improve UI tech practices

Job Description
What your weeks will look like
- Propose functional design solutions to develop the technical UI foundations of the project;
- Design functional prototypes to test and validate the user experience with the team;
- Animate certain interface elements within the Unreal game engine;
- Be a primary point of contact for technical UI issues on the project, both internally and with external partners;
- Actively participate in progress meetings and collaborate with other disciplines;
- Supervise and support UI designers by offering guidance and sharing best practices;
- Develop the UI development pipeline in Unreal in collaboration with technological leadership;
- Participate in project retrospectives to improve future UI processes;
- Contribute to the evolution of tools, templates, and work methods used in UI within the studio.
Qualifications
What we are looking for
- College diploma in graphic design, UX/UI design, digital arts, or other related diploma combined with equivalent experience;
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in UI design or any other relevant experience;
- Demonstrated experience in technical interface design on AAA projects;
- Experience in team mentoring;
- Experience in technical interface development and good experience with Unreal 5.X.
- Ability to design interfaces for different audiences and platforms (console, PC, mobile);
- Excellent command of creation tools (Figma, Photoshop or equivalents);
- Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken). English skills are required for the work as we collaborate with English-speaking partners;
- Available to travel internationally if needed.
