Job Summary
The eBay Controllership team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to support US-Off platform groups TCGplayer and Roca Robotics. This role involves being a trusted partner across various cross-functional groups, supporting key business initiatives by identifying accounting requirements, implementing financial controls, and driving process improvements. The Senior Accountant will also prepare and post journal entries, support month-end closing processes, maintain documentation, and contribute to special projects.
Must Have
- Partner with cross-functional groups (Finance, Tax, Legal, etc.)
- Support business initiatives with accounting requirements and financial controls
- Assess SOX implications and implement controls
- Conduct accounting process reviews and drive improvements
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for internal controls and audits
- 3+ years’ experience in Accounting
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Proven understanding of US GAAP, SOX, and financial procedures
- Effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience with ERP systems
- Work 3 days per week in Austin, Texas office

About the Role:
The Controllership team is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Senior Accountant supporting the US-Off platform groups TCGplayer and Roca Robotics! Ideal candidates will use their accounting and process knowledge to contribute to fast-paced and growing organizations!
What You Will Accomplish:
- Be a trusted and relevant Controlling partner across cross functional groups such as Finance, Accounting Policy, Tax, Legal, Shared Services, Systems, and teams across the TCGplayer and Roca Robotics Organizations.
- Support key business initiatives through identification of global and local accounting requirements and ensure implementation of relevant financial controls, processes and automated solutions. This includes concept development, requirements identification, user testing and production implementation.
- Assess SOX implications, modify and implement controls as appropriate, and conduct accounting process reviews.
- Conduct ongoing reviews of accounting processes, internal controls, and overall efficiency to drive process improvements through automation, streamlining and best practices.
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries, ensuring a well-organized and GAAP/SOX compliant general ledger.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes through reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, and reporting activities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation to support internal controls and external audits.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency across accounting functions.
- Contribute to special projects and provide ad-hoc analyses that drive strategic decision-making.
What You Will Bring:
- Dedication to working our Hybrid model with 3 days per week in our Austin, Texas office.
- 3+ years’ experience in Accounting. Experience in public accounting or at a large growth company and a CPA is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Proven understanding of US GAAP, local accounting and regulatory requirements, SOX and standard financial procedures and safeguards.
- Effective communication skills - including the capability to listen to the needs of others, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, and present findings as well as recommendations in both oral and written presentations.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience applying these skills to resolve operational accounting process and system issues.
- Customer focus and the ability to optimally collaborate and influence in a cross-functional environment; including working with all levels and in multiple locations.
- Confident with initiating and responding to change; demonstrated ability to leverage systems to improve accounting processes and controls.
- Ability to set priorities, balance multiple tasks, and deliver results in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks, making sure tasks are accurate and executed on time.
- Proven experience with ERP systems
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$70,000 - $120,700
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
