Job Summary

Salesforce is seeking an experienced Account Executive to drive digital transformation and strategic sales within the Western Australia Public Sector. This role involves owning a defined territory of WA Public Sector accounts, managing complex sales cycles, and building trusted relationships with senior government stakeholders. The successful candidate will leverage the Salesforce Customer 360 platform to help WA Government agencies improve citizen outcomes and achieve mission objectives, requiring an in-depth understanding of WA's political, economic, and regulatory landscape.

Must Have

  • Proven Success in Complex Sales: Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding annual sales quotas, preferably in enterprise SaaS, cloud, data, or digital transformation.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience selling technology solutions directly into the Western Australian Government, State Agencies, or Local Government.
  • Strong, practical understanding of Western Australian Government Procurement Rules, processes, tender requirements, and existing Common Use Arrangements (CUAs) relevant to ICT/SaaS purchases.
  • Solid understanding of Australian Government security compliance requirements, including familiarity with concepts like IRAP certification and the need for Australian Data Residency.
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain multi-threaded relationships with senior-level public servants and procurement/commercial teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proven capability in commercial negotiation and crafting compelling business cases.

Good to Have

  • Prior experience working with Salesforce platform or competing enterprise cloud solutions.
  • Existing relationships and network across key WA Government departments (e.g., Finance, Health, Transport, Premier & Cabinet).
  • Knowledge of specific digital modernisation priorities within the WA Public Sector.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Account Executive to drive digital transformation and strategic sales across the Western Australia Public Sector. This role is critical to helping WA Government agencies leverage the full power of the Salesforce Customer 360 platform to deliver exceptional services, improve citizen outcomes, and achieve their mission objectives.

You will be responsible for owning a defined territory of WA Public Sector accounts, managing complex sales cycles end-to-end, and building deep, trusted relationships with senior government stakeholders. Success in this role requires an in-depth understanding of WA's unique political, economic, and regulatory landscape, including specific state-level procurement frameworks and digital strategy priorities.

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

  • Strategic Account and Territory Planning (WA-Specific):
  • Develop and execute comprehensive territory and account plans that align with the strategic priorities of the Western Australian Government, including state-wide digital initiatives and agency-specific roadmaps.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage net-new and expansion opportunities across State Government departments and relevant Local Government entities.
  • Navigating WA Government Procurement:
  • Confidently manage and navigate complex sales cycles, ensuring compliance with Western Australian Government Procurement Rules, State Supply Commission Policies, Common Use Arrangements (CUAs), and other relevant government frameworks.
  • Develop effective tender response strategies (RFPs, RFIs) that meet specific WA Government legal, commercial, and technical requirements.
  • Building Trusted Relationships and Partnerships:
  • Build and maintain deep, multi-threaded relationships with Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Directors General, Commercial Managers, and key business stakeholders within WA Public Sector agencies.
  • Position Salesforce as a trusted strategic partner committed to upholding Australian Government security, data residency, and compliance standards (e.g., PSPF, ISM, IRAP), critical for WA agencies.
  • Team Collaboration and Value Co-Creation:
  • Lead and coordinate a matrixed account team (including Solution Engineers, Cloud Specialists, Customer Success, and Partner Managers) to deliver value-based solutions centered on the Customer 360, Industry Clouds, AI/Einstein, and Data solutions.
  • Work closely with our Partner Ecosystem (Global SIs and local WA partners) to drive joint account planning and ensure successful delivery for our government customers.
  • Forecasting and Business Management:
  • Maintain the highest level of accuracy in pipeline management and forecasting using Salesforce, providing transparent and data-informed insights to regional and national leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven Success in Complex Sales: Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding annual sales quotas, preferably in enterprise SaaS, cloud, data, or digital transformation.
  • WA Public Sector Experience is Essential: Minimum of 5 years’ experience selling technology solutions directly into the Western Australian Government, State Agencies, or Local Government.
  • Expertise in WA Procurement: Strong, practical understanding of Western Australian Government Procurement Rules, processes, tender requirements, and existing Common Use Arrangements (CUAs) relevant to ICT/SaaS purchases.
  • Security and Compliance Acumen: Solid understanding of Australian Government security compliance requirements, including familiarity with concepts like IRAP certification and the need for Australian Data Residency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional ability to build and maintain multi-threaded relationships with senior-level public servants and procurement/commercial teams.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proven capability in commercial negotiation and crafting compelling business cases.
