Job Summary
The Senior Accounting Analyst will manage a wide array of accounting tasks such as journal preparation, tax coordination, financial statement preparation, and audit support. This role demands a deep understanding of Indian tax laws, exceptional analytical skills, and the capability to handle Financial processes. The position is full-time, based in Mumbai, India, and requires a hybrid work model with 3-4 days on-site.
Must Have
- Prepare and post journal entries, including statutory and intercompany entries.
- Assist in preparing financial statement notes and finalize GL mapping for audits.
- Coordinate with suppliers for tax queries and distribute withholding tax certificates.
- Ensure correct booking of expenses with TDS and GST deductions.
- Prepare schedules and data for income tax assessments and Form 3CD.
- Update and review XML files for tax audit filings and compile data for FLA Filing.
- Prepare challans for CSR and PM relief fund payments.
- Compile data for transfer pricing and reconcile Form 26AS with GL.
- Prepare reconciliation for income and GSTR-9 filing, and handle GSTR-9C data.
- Manage all aspects of TDS, including returns, rectifications, and certificates.
- Oversee escalated cases, ensuring adherence to escalation protocols and SLAs.
- Review and verify monthly intercompany invoices for local compliance.
- Ensure supporting documents for foreign payments are provided to the bank.
- Prepare payment requests for statutory offices and taxes.
- Prepare intercompany working papers.
- Deliver and coordinate Prepared By Client (PBC) documentation for audits.
- Ensure all supporting documents are shared with auditors and prepare IFC documents.
- Schedule and coordinate physical fixed assets count.
- Reconcile taxes and other accounts for audit purposes.

This role is open only to candidates located in Mumbai as our finance operations are based there.
The selected candidate will be expected to follow a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence 3–4 days a week.
The Senior Accountant will manage a wide array of accounting tasks such as journal preparation, tax coordination, financial statement preparation, and audit support. This role demands a deep understanding of Indian tax laws, exceptional analytical skills, and the capability to handle Financial processes.
Journal and Financial Statement Preparation:
- Prepare and post journal entries. statutory entries, intercompany entries based on calculations
- Assist in the preparation of various notes to the financial statements.
- Finalize the GL mapping file for audit/review, including mapping new accounts, providing explanations for adjustments, and preparing backup documentation.
Tax Coordination and Compliance:
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve tax queries and follow up on necessary documentation.
- Generate and distribute withholding tax certificates to vendors and intercompany teams.
- Ensure expenses are correctly booked against invoices, with appropriate TDS and GST deductions.
- Prepare schedules and backend data required for income tax assessments and Form 3CD.
- Update and review XML files for tax audit filings.
- Compile data for FLA Filing and file returns.
- Prepare challans for CSR and payments to the PM relief fund.
- Compile data for transfer pricing and share sample intercompany invoices with PwC.
- Prepare Form 26AS reconciliation with GL.
- Prepare reconciliation and supporting documentation for income and GSTR-9 filing and compile data for GSTR-9C.Prepare and coordinate other taxes and perform related filings (GST Tax Return-GSTR-1 and Form 3B), including reconciliation of Input GST Credit with Form 2A. Pass GST payment entries matching the balance with the GST portal.
- Handle all aspects of TDS, including data preparation for returns, rectifications, and coordinating with local CA for 15CA and 15CB certificates.Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (26Q, 27Q, 24Q).Handle third-party TDS software updates and renewals.Manage residency certificates and address TDS deduction queries.Prepare details for TDS payment and tax reconciliations. Prepare details for TDS payment and tax reconciliations.Prepare and rectify TDS certificates in the Traces Portal.
- Oversee the handling of escalated cases, ensuring adherence to escalation protocols and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Accounts Payable, Payment Processing and intercompany
- Review and verify monthly intercompany invoices for local compliance.
- Ensure all supporting documents for foreign payments are provided to the bank.
- Prepare payment requests for statutory offices and taxes.
- Prepare intercompany working papers
Audit and Internal Controls
- Deliver and coordinate Prepared By Client (PBC) documentation for entity-specific audits.
- Ensure all supporting and backup documents are shared with auditors, with continuous follow-up.
- Prepare documents for Internal Financial Control (IFC) required for statutory audits.
- Schedule and coordinate the physical fixed assets (FA) count with Admin & IT.
- Reconcile taxes and other accounts for audit purposes.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- CA Inter or Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to related financial role
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Oracle) preferred
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices related to cash management and receivables.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with some supervision.
