Job Description

As a Senior DDT Director at Starcom, you will lead data strategy for a fast-growing Power of One client, driving their transformation journey. This UK-focused role, based in London, involves advising senior clients on tech, data utilization, and media measurement. You will develop and implement data and tech strategies, lead and inspire a team, and foster strong internal and external relationships. The position requires a data-driven marketer with expertise in holistic measurement, analytics, and digital marketing, including social media platforms.
Must have:
  • Advise senior clients on tech landscape, data use, and media measurement.
  • Lead strategic data direction, roadmap, and growth plans for clients.
  • Develop clear data and technology strategies.
  • Articulate recommendations to Marketing-Director level clients.
  • Inspire and motivate direct reports and the wider DDT team.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Drive integration of the Power of One model and Connected Identity vision.
  • Identify and encourage usage of relevant Publicis tools.
  • Be a data-driven marketer telling compelling stories with data.
  • Understand holistic measurement, including ROI and MMM.
  • Lead analytics scope within Effectiveness & Measurement and Data Science.
  • Possess strong digital marketing experience from media or digital agencies.
  • Understand social media platform mechanics (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest).

Overview

As Senior DDT Director, you have three overarching responsibilities that directly relate to our agency Growth Pillars. DDT is at the centre of growth in today’s industry and Starcom, which presents an incredible opportunity for career growth for data experts.

Fundamentally you will be leading data strategy on a fast-growing Power of One client that is on a transformation journey with Publicis. The role is UK-focused but not only about the UK as our relationship covers 15 markets, run from London.

Responsibilities

As part of driving Growth for Clients. You will:

  • Be a trusted advisor to key senior clients, helping them navigate the tech landscape, maximise data use and measure their media in the optimum way possible
  • Be sought out by client and Planning team as the go-to expert on industry and client- specific strategic issues
  • Lead strategic direction for clients, this is a senior role working in collaboration with Business Director and Managing Partner on the account in designing and delivering a data roadmap and growth plan
  • Produce data and tech strategies which are clear and underpin client growth through the application of data and technology.
  • Articulate recommendations with gravitas to clients up to Marketing-Director level
  • Communicate a compelling vision of the future and help the client understand what it means for them; demonstrate ability to identify key issues and objectives and solve problems in a systematic manner

Develop a Team: You will be a major contributor in shaping the culture and direction of the DDT team.

  • Lead, inspire and motivate a team to perform; both direct reports and the wider DDT team
  • Build close relationships with internal capabilities and external partners and play a lead role in cross-capability engagement
  • Provide strategic guidance for building DDT deliverables, bring latest industry and groupe thinking to raise knowledge within team
  • Have significant influence in refining structure and remit of DDT team, defining capabilities and role within planning team and agency.
  • Raise profile of DDT team internally and externally

Drive Growth for Starcom:

  • Drive the integration of the Power of One model
  • Deliver the Connected Identity vision to your clients
  • Identify Publicis tools most relevant for your client and encourage usage
  • Drive organic growth to account for DDT resource within client scope, and build solutions proposals for out-of-scope opportunities

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • We are looking for a brilliant data driven marketer who can tell compelling stories through data and gain buy-in across a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • You must understand Measurement holistically, specifically ROI and MMM – the client is focused on in-store sales and has bespoke MMM to measure. We need someone who can assess ROI data and work with comms planners to be the voice of data-led decision making.
  • As a result, you must be good at building strong relationships with clients and planners – the role is an important link in the team, and you cannot work in a silo.
  • You will lead the analytics scope within Effectiveness & Measurement alongside Data Science so require a strong understanding of what data should be brought in and how to use it for planning and measurement, we work with site data but it’s not the only data set we can or should analyse.
  • A strategic and big-picture thinker, grounded in analytics and optimisation, able to uncover strategic insights that can help create, shape and transform overall client (digital) strategic direction
  • Natural curiosity and desire to help clients achieve goals
  • Commercially aware
  • Confident in presenting both internally and externally
  • Strong digital practitioner, with experience gained from within a media agency or digital specialist agency. Understanding of the mechanics of social platforms is important (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest)
  • Must have extensive digital marketing experience
