Job Summary

Join the Fortnite ecosystem team as a Senior Environment Artist, contributing to the future of Fortnite as a gaming platform. You will have significant autonomy to design and execute all aspects of environment development, collaborating with external partners. This role requires versatility in various artistic needs, from modeling and texturing to scene assembly, and proactive project leadership from ideation to completion, in collaboration with the Art Director.

Must Have

  • Collaborate closely with the Art Director to define scope, plan, and deliver high-quality visuals
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new artistic initiatives for users
  • Lead environment-related initiatives with minimal supervision
  • Participate in content creation and integration for the Fortnite ecosystem
  • Work with external partners to plan asset sets, test them, and create exemplary demonstrations
  • Collaborate with other Epic teams to learn, adapt, and evolve environmental art capabilities
  • Demonstrate versatility by supporting general modeling and texturing needs when necessary
  • More than five years of experience as an environment artist
  • Wide range of 3D art skills and ability to adapt to different visual styles
  • Developed artistic eye and ability to propose and design inspiring environments
  • Excellent communication and professional relationship building skills
  • Comfort with change, autonomy in task management and adaptability to evolving project scope
  • Strong artistic foundations, ideally complemented by skills in other visual disciplines

What you will do

You will join the Fortnite ecosystem team as a Senior Environment Artist and contribute to shaping the future of Fortnite as a gaming platform. In this role, you will have great autonomy to design and execute all aspects related to environment development, in collaboration with external partners. You will be comfortable wearing multiple hats and adapting to different artistic needs throughout projects, whether it's modeling, sculpting, texturing, terrain and vegetation creation, hard surface and organic art, scene assembly, or visual presentation. You will also have the opportunity to proactively lead projects, from ideation to realization, while collaborating with the Art Director on the overall vision.

What you will be responsible for

  • Collaborate closely with the Art Director to define scope, plan, and deliver very high-quality visuals
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new artistic initiatives for users
  • Lead environment-related initiatives with minimal supervision
  • Participate in the creation and integration of content for the Fortnite ecosystem
  • Work with external partners to plan asset sets, test these sets, and create exemplary demonstrations of what can be achieved with the published assets
  • Collaborate with other teams at Epic to learn, adapt, and evolve the team's environmental art capabilities
  • Demonstrate versatility by supporting, when necessary, generalist modeling and texturing needs, for example, for gameplay objects or key elements

What we are looking for

  • More than five years of experience as an environment artist
  • Wide range of 3D art skills and ability to adapt to different visual styles according to projects and intellectual properties
  • Developed artistic eye and ability to propose and design inspiring environments
  • Excellent communication and professional relationship building skills
  • Comfort with change, autonomy in task management, and adaptability to evolving project scope
  • Strong artistic foundations, ideally complemented by skills in other visual disciplines
  • Experience with UEFN, an asset
