Job Summary
As a Senior Innovation Project Manager within Innovation Engineering (IEN) at Philips, you will lead strategic and complex innovation projects and programs globally. This role involves driving breakthrough AI-enabled medical device, digital-health, and consumer-health technology innovations from concept to market. You will manage programs spanning multiple businesses and sites, coordinating across hardware, software, AI, regulatory, supply chain, and manufacturing. The position requires strategic insight and operational excellence in a regulated environment, with high visibility at senior leadership levels.
Must Have
- Lead large-scale, cross-business innovation programs
- Translate customer, clinical, and consumer needs into execution plans
- Drive innovation realization lifecycle from concept to market launch
- Own and steer program scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk mitigation

- Master’s degree in engineering, technology, computer science, or related field
- 10+ years experience leading complex innovation or product development programs
- Proven success bringing medical devices, digital/AI solutions, or consumer health products to market
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML-driven products
- Expert-level project/program management skills; PMP, IPMA, SAFe, or equivalent certification

Job Description
As a Senior Innovation Project Manager within Innovation Engineering (IEN), you will lead strategic and complex innovation project and programs within Philips. The IEN organization, part of Innovation and Design has a central function in Philips and provides best-in-class services to all Philips Business Units operating globally.
You will drive breakthrough (AI-enabled) medical device, digital-health, and consumer-health technology innovations from concept to market introduction. These programs often span multiple businesses, multiple sites, and require coordination across hardware, software, AI, regulatory, supply chain, and manufacturing domains.
This role provides visibility at senior leadership/executive levels and demands both strategic insight and operational excellence in a regulated environment.
Your Role
##### Strategic Program Leadership
- Lead large-scale, cross-business innovation programs, ensuring successful end-to-end delivery of new platforms, systems, and AI-enabled products.
- Translate customer, clinical, and consumer needs into scope, architectural decisions, value creation models, and execution plans.
- Drive the entire innovation realization lifecycle: value proposition → concept → architecture → development → validation and verification → regulatory readiness → industrialization → launch → lifecycle updates.
- Ensure solutions create value across Philips businesses, maximizing re-use, platform thinking, and enterprise benefit.
##### Execution & Governance
- Own and steer program scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk mitigation
- Ensure compliance with Philips QMS, product safety standards, medical regulations (FDA, MDR, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304), and consumer product compliance requirements.
- Drive integrated execution with R&D, Data Science/AI, Design, Supply Chain, Industrialization, Service, Commercial, and Regulatory teams.
- Run program governance (PCT, steering committees), ensuring clear stakeholder alignment and decision-making.
##### AI, Digital & Systems Engineering Leadership
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into products or program management workflows.
- Apply system engineering and architecture discipline across hardware, embedded software, cloud services, consumer electronics, and medical systems.
- Safeguard cybersecurity, data governance, interoperability, and real-world clinical/consumer workflow integration.
##### Cross-Business Influence & External Engagement
- Support programs across any Philips business, from complex medical systems to personal health and household innovations.
- Build strategic relationships with external partners, OEM/ODM suppliers, academic institutions, and clinical collaborators.
- Analyze industry trends, competition, and emerging technologies, bringing strong outside-in perspective to IEN and business stakeholders.
- Represent IEN and Philips externally in relevant ecosystem/industry forums when required.
##### Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams across diverse technical domains and geographic locations.
- Mentor CG60 and CG70 PMs; contribute to strengthening the PM community within IEN.
- Shape a high-performance culture that thrives in complex, ambiguous, and cross-business environments.
- Actively contribute to improving processes, tooling, portfolio reporting, and the PM capability maturity across Philips.

##### Education & Background
- Minimally a Master’s degree in engineering, technology, computer science, biomedical engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience leading complex, multi-site, multidisciplinary innovation or product development programs.
- Proven success bringing medical devices, digital/AI solutions, consumer health, or household appliances from concept to market launch.
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML-driven products or leveraging AI tools in program management.
- Experience working with partners across development, supply chain, industrialization, and regulatory domains.
