Job Summary

This role involves managing Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) for international freight, primarily sea and air freight, with a focus on India. Responsibilities include evaluating LSPs during tendering, using data-driven metrics for performance improvement, addressing deviations, conducting regular reviews, and acting as a contact point for internal and external inquiries. The manager will also support change management, task forces, and penalty/claims management.

Must Have

  • Responsible for LSP management for international freight (Sea & Air freight).
  • Evaluate logistics service providers (LSPs) during tendering, including operational capabilities, audit hubs, service quality, and alignment with objectives.
  • Use data-driven metrics (SLAs, KPIs, scorecards) to improve cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Perform ageing reports and proactively address deviations.
  • Conduct pre-defined review cycles with LSPs, initiate escalations and systematic problem-solving (e.g., PDCA cycle).
  • Act as contact point for internal customer inquiries on new routes or transport modes, collaborating with other regional LSP managers.
  • Conduct Hypercare/Taskforce for change management/routes with recurring deviations.
  • Be the point of contact for LSPs regarding invoice payments and change management.
  • Support internal stakeholders for Penalty and claims management topics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in LSP-management with an existing network of major LSPs.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to think strategically about growth potentials.
  • Strong understanding of Transport management system, freight forwarding, and custom clearance processes.

Good to Have

  • Excellent data analysis and hands-on experience with Power BI and Microsoft Excel.

Roles & Responsibilities :

Responsible for LSP management for international freight, focusing on Sea & Air freight, and back up for other international freight mode in and out India.

  • Responsible for evaluation of logistics service providers (LSPs) during the tendering process, including assessing operational capabilities, audit hubs, service quality, and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Responsible to use data-driven metrics (SLAs, KPIs, scorecards) to continuously improve cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Perform ageing reports and proactively address any deviations
  • Conduct pre-defined review cycles with LSPs at regular frequency. Take necessary escalations and initiate systematic problem-solving approach, for example PDCA cycle to ensure future enhancements. Proactively engage fast problem recognition, and take actions proactively, to avoid/eliminate escalations and complaints from internal customers
  • Be the contact point for any inquiries from internal customers in the region on new route or new transport mode and collaborate with LSP managers and network design experts in other region to seek for collaboration and optimization of network.
  • Conduct Hypercare/Taskforce for change management/ routes with recurring deviations.
  • Be the point of contact for LSPs towards any support with invoice payments, change management etc
  • Support internal stakeholders for Penalty and claims management topics

Qualifications

Educational qualification:

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, business, supply chain or economics from a reputable university.

Mandatory/requires Skills :

  • 3+ years of experience in LSP-management and existing network with major LSPs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to think about further growth potentials and mid- and long-term strategies.
  • Strong understanding of Transport management system, freight forwarding and custom clearance processes

Preferred Skills :

  • Excellent data analysis and hands on experience with power bi and Microsoft excel
