Job Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for diverse engineering assignments, applying advanced engineering principles, and coordinating tasks. This role involves participating in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews, creating and updating documentation, designing and managing fixtures, and leading problem-solving teams using lean manufacturing methods. The engineer will also assist in creating programs, collaborating with Operations Analysts, ensuring processes meet site objectives, providing training, and performing validations. This position requires a broad knowledge of engineering specialties and the ability to advise on complex technical problems.

Must Have

  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews.
  • Create, request, and update documentation including customer-specific requirements, non-disclosure agreements, routings, and Bill of Materials.
  • Assist in designing and managing the fabrication or acquisition of fixtures.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead problem solving teams utilizing lean manufacturing methods.
  • Assist in creating programs (such as Laser Marking programs), 3D models, and associated fixtures.
  • Collaborate with Operations Analysts to ensure data is available, monitored, and reported.
  • Participate in ensuring processes are in place to deliver site annual and strategic objectives.
  • Participate in required training and occasionally author work instructions for new processes.
  • Ensure key program implementation milestones are understood, communicated, and aligned.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate engineering assignments.
  • Investigate and advise on unusual and difficult problems encountered in an engineering practice.
  • Assist in creating Standard Work Instructions for various operations.
  • Interact and communicate with customers on new product launches.
  • Perform and assist in validations and revalidations as necessary and create protocols.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ Years of Engineering Experience.

Good to Have

  • Master's degree.
  • 7+ Years of Engineering Experience.
  • 2+ Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience Operating CNC Equipment/Machining.
  • Lean Manufacturing Experience.
  • Exposure to integrated business planning (Sales & Operations Planning process), quality system deployment, and lean manufacturing in an industrial setting.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for varied engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge of an engineering specialty. He/she uses and applies advanced engineering principles and has a working knowledge of advanced technical research with a particular field of specialization. He/she plans, conducts, and coordinates engineering assignments. He/she participates in planning objectives; evaluates complex, special and advanced engineering tasks; and, investigates and advises on unusual and difficult problems encountered in an engineering practice. He/she may give periodic technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians assigned to work on a common project.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Participates in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with internal teams. Reviews drawings, 3D models, and specifications to facilitate manufacturability.
  • Creates, requests, and/or updates various documentation including customer-specific requirements, non-disclosure agreements, routings, and Bill of Materials.
  • Assists in designing and managing the fabrication or acquisition of fixtures used in various processes. Ensures the successful implementation of fixtures on the production floor.
  • Participates in and occasionally leads problem solving teams utilizing lean manufacturing methods.
  • Assists in creating programs (such as Laser Marking programs),3D models, associates fixtures, drawings, templates, overlays, etc.
  • Collaborates with Operations Analysts to ensure data is available, monitored, and reported with a consistent approach. Supports implementation of any management system at the site level.
  • Participates in ensuring processes are in place to deliver site annual and strategic objectives, including but not limited to OEE and VAPD performance, productivity, capacity planning, and capital investment.
  • Participates in the required training that is delivered to the site team in support of site goals, objectives, and program management milestones. Occasionally authors work instructions for new processes.
  • Ensures key program implementation milestones are understood, communicated, and aligned.
  • Participates in planning objectives. Evaluates complex, special and advanced engineering tasks.
  • Plans, conducts and coordinates engineering assignments as directed by Engineering manager or director.
  • Investigates and advises on unusual and difficult problems encountered in an engineering practice.
  • Assists in creating Standard Work Instructions for various operations.
  • Interacts and communicates with customers to inform them of critical details on new product launches.
  • Performs and assists in validations and revalidations as necessary and creates protocols.
