Senior NSX-T & Tanzu Platform Engineer

Onward Search is looking to hire a Senior NSX-T & Tanzu Platform Engineer for a remote contract opportunity. This role involves supporting the upgrade of Tanzu Application Service from v6 to v10, which includes significant impacts to NSX-T, NSX Container Plugin (NCP), and Manager-to-Policy (MP2P) migration. The position is 100% remote and operates on EST hours.

Must Have

• Support upgrade of Tanzu Application Service from v6 to v10.
• Address migration-related impacts on NSX-T, NCP, and MP2P.
• 5–7+ years of experience with VMware NSX-T (architecture, LB, DFW, tiers, segments).
• Direct, hands-on experience with NSX-T Manager to Policy (MP2P) migrations.
• Strong experience with NSX Container Plugin (NCP) in TAS, Kubernetes, TKGI, or OpenShift.
• Experience integrating Tanzu Application Service (TAS) with NSX-T (foundations, orgs, ASGs, DFW).
• Kubernetes networking experience (LoadBalancer, Ingress, CNI, OVS).
• Linux networking competency (OVS kernel modules, routes, AppArmor, secure boot issues).
• Strong troubleshooting ability using logs, APIs, and NSX/NCP internals.
• Clear communicator.
• Comfortable in high-risk production migration environments.

Good to Have

• Prior work on TAS foundation migrations.
• Broadcom / VMware partner experience.
• Experience with multi-cluster, large-scale environments.
