Senior Product Designer II

The Sumo Logic user experience design team is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their team in India. This role focuses on designing simple, clean, and powerful experiences for complex B2B products, collaborating closely with product managers and engineers. Key responsibilities include executing full UX solutions, creating design artifacts, leading user research, ensuring validated designs, and driving data-driven design improvements to achieve delightful user experiences.

Must Have

• Act as a point of contact from different cross-functional departments
• Execute full UX solutions based on existing product vision and business requirements
• Create and communicate end-to-end scenarios, interaction models, wireframes, prototypes, and specs to stakeholders
• Lead research that identifies user needs and product usability
• Ensure designs are validated and tested to meet user needs
• Lead data-driven design methodologies to champion refinements of the product
• Help lead improvements to processes and relationships
• Be highly adaptable in an ever-changing environment
• 5+ years of work experience as a designer working on shippable products in the B2B space
• Track record of influencing the direction of the product and delivering high-quality products
• Strong experience in working with engineering and product management teams
• Experience with user research in building the product and testing
• A communicator who can easily explain the product design process
• A portfolio that highlights your strengths

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in design, human factors, HCI, or a related discipline
• Experience working on enterprise software
• Experience with developer tools for developers and security professionals
• Good understanding of cloud technologies

To be successful, you should be able to demonstrate experience in designing simple, clean, and powerful experiences for complex products, working effectively with product teams with close collaboration with designers, product managers, and engineers, in a high-paced environment.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented Product Designer who is passionate about solving complex problems and creating smart, beautiful, and polished products.

• Act as a point of contact from different cross-functional departments
• Execute full UX solutions based on existing product vision and business requirements
• Create and communicate end-to-end scenarios, interaction models, wireframes, prototypes, and specs to stakeholders
• Lead research that identifies user needs and product usability
• Ensure designs are validated and tested to meet user needs
• Lead data-driven design methodologies to champion refinements of the product until the usability and experience reach a delightful experience and success criteria
• Help lead improvements to processes and relationships beyond the scope of individual work
• Be highly adaptable in an ever-changing environment

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated and able to work both independently and in collaboration with a team. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• 5+ years of work experience as a designer working on shippable products in the B2B space
• Has a track record of influencing the direction of the product and delivering high-quality products
• Strong experience in working with engineering and product management teams to oversee the user experience of a product from discovery to delivery
• Experience with user research in building the product and testing to validate key insights
• A communicator who can easily explain the product design process with various teams
• A portfolio that highlights your strengths

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in design, human factors, HCI, or a related discipline
• Experience working on enterprise software and specifically developer tools for developers and security professionals.
• Good understanding of cloud technologies.
