Senior R&D Software Engineer

Job Description:

Location: Pune, India

The VMware vDefend User Interface Engineering team at Broadcom, part of Application Networking and Security Division (ANS Division) is looking for best-in-class, senior level, full-stack and user interface Engineers, who shares our real passion for innovating and crafting the best customer, user experience.

As a Senior Engineer, you will contribute significantly to the evolution of our Network Security products by designing, developing, and optimizing high-quality user interfaces. You will work closely with Staff Engineers and cross-functional partners to translate product requirements into intuitive, performant, and scalable UI solutions.

You are expected to have strong working knowledge in user interface engineering, user-centered design principles, and modern cloud-based application architectures. You should be proficient with browser technologies and have a keen eye for detail and design quality. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to contribute to UI design discussions, implement robust features, ensure code quality, and support the overall delivery of the VMware vDefend product portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of intuitive and accessible UIs, ensuring strong performance and usability.
• Participate in developing user models, prototyping, and implementing user interface features.
• Build simple-to-use interfaces for a complex Network & Security solutions
• Adapt and apply new technologies, best design practices and usability patterns
• Collaborate with UX Designers, Product Managers, Technical Architects, and cross-functional Engineering teams to optimize the designs in order to delight our users
• Maintain strong discipline in writing clean, high-quality, and well-tested code.
• Lead team through solving customer reported problems, ensuring resolutions meet service level agreements
• Advocate for usability and quality of our products

Requirements

• Have solid background in OOP, modern browser-based UI for cloud-scale applications
• Possess expert level in UI design and public API design for large scale software system
• Strong sense of product usability, as user advocate
• Strong organization and task management skills
• Have previous successes with leading projects that involves dozens of people from multiple cross-functional teams
• Able to quickly identify risks, recommend avoidances, and handle known risks
• Excellent in verbal and written communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields and 8+ years of related experience minimum.
