Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Backup & Storage Engineer to implement and manage enterprise-level storage and backup systems across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role ensures data integrity, availability, and recoverability, collaborating with teams for robust disaster recovery. Key responsibilities include setting up and maintaining storage and backup policies, driving standard deployments, performing vulnerability analysis, installing updates, defining architecture, and monitoring infrastructure. The role also involves incident resolution, root cause analysis, and generating reports.

Good To Have:

Scripting knowledge in Perl or Python
Ansible knowledge
Terraform
French language skills

Must Have:

Set-up and maintain Storage devices’ definitions and policies.
Set-up and maintain Backup tool and corresponding application’s modules definitions and policies.
Drive and enforce standard based deployments.
Perform periodic analysis of vulnerabilities with risk and impact assessment.
Install updates and patches to hardware and software; perform routine maintenance.
Analysis and propose configuration to deploy.
Architecture and Reference Configuration definition.
CMDB maintenance.
Decommissioning: data migration, logical disk shredding, and configuration cleaning.
Monitoring of the Backup and Storage infrastructures.
Incident follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
Present Root Cause Analysis (RCA) after major system events.
Service requests follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
Generate reports on the overall status of the services’ infrastructure.
At least 10 years of experience in Backup&Storage domain within a large environment.
University degree or equivalent level through experience and professional training.
Good knowledge in Commvault, HYCU, SAN (Brocade), Hitachi Storage, PureStorage, NetApp NAS, DELL PowerScale, NetApp StorageGrid, Cloudian S3.
Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies, capable of self-study.
Strong communication skills, process minded and able to maintain the high level overview.
Fluency in English (at least B2 Level).

Job Description

We are actively looking for a motivated Senior Backup & Storage Engineer who will be responsible for implementing, and managing enterprise-level storage and backup systems across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role ensures data integrity, availability, and recoverability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable robust disaster recovery and resilience strategies.

Key responsibilities:

Set-up and maintain Storage devices’ definitions and policies.
Set-up and maintain Backup tool and corresponding application’s modules definitions and policies.
Drive and enforce standard based deployments.
Perform periodic analysis of vulnerabilities available with the corresponding risk and impact assessment, in conjunction with the providers, to ensure a stable and safe setup.
In coordination with the providers, install updates and patches to hardware and software. Perform routine and preventive maintenance task.
Analysis and propose configuration to deploy.
Architecture and Reference Configuration definition.
CMDB maintenance.
Decommissioning: data migration in coordination with other teams, logical disk shredding, and configuration cleaning.
Monitoring of the Backup and Storage infrastructures.
Incident follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
After major system events, a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) has to be presented, including the preventive measures to take to limit possible reoccurrences.
Service requests follow-up and resolution (ServiceNow).
Generate reports on the overall status of the services’ infrastructure.

Qualifications

At least 10 years of experience in Backup&Storage domain within a large environment.
University degree or equivalent level through experience and professional training.
Good knowledge in some of the following tools is required:
Commvault
HYCU
SAN (Brocade)
Storage (Hitachi) infrastructure knowledge
PureStorage
NetApp NAS storage arrays (FASxxxx, AFFxxx) with Snapmirror
DELL PowerScale (Isilon)
NetApp StorageGrid S3 Objectstorage
Cloudian S3 Objectstorage.
Considered as a PLUS: scripting knowledge in Perl or Python; Ansible knowledge; Terraform
Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies, capable of self-study.
Strong communication skills, process minded and able to maintain the high level overview.
Fluency in English (at least B2 Level). French is considered as an asset.
