Job Description

As a Senior System Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development life cycle. Your responsibilities include environment setup and management, automating processes, implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code tools, and ensuring security best practices. You will also handle incident response, performance optimization, and cost optimization. Collaboration with development, QC, and operations teams is crucial. The role involves continuous evaluation and improvement of DevOps processes and methodologies. The job requires you to create and manage development, testing, and production environments and ensure they are mirroring each other for accurate testing and deployment.
Must have:
  • 4+ years of System Engineer experience
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and networking
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
  • Experience with GitOps concepts and tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Working experience in game publishing industry
  • Familiarity with data engineering workflows
  • AWS Certification

Job Responsibilities :

As a Senior System Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. You will implement tools and processes that enable rapid development and deployment of software, ensure service reliability through monitoring, incident response and capacity planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Environment Setup and Management: create and manage development, testing, and production environments, ensuring they mirror each other for accurate testing and deployment.
  • Automating Processes: develop and implement automation for software builds, testing, deployment, and infrastructure management.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline code integration, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Infrastructure Management: manage and provision infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Deployment and Release Management: develop and improve deployment and release processes to ensure smooth and error-free deployments. Implement canary releases and A/B testing strategies.
  • Monitoring and Logging: implement and maintain monitoring tools to track system performance and set up logging to troubleshoot and analyse issues.
  • Security: ensure security best practices are integrated into the CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Incident Response: respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues in production environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Performance Optimization: optimize system performance and resource usage, ensuring scalability and reliability of applications.
  • Cost Optimization:  reducing expenses by right-sizing resources, using cost-efficient cloud options, ensures efficient operations while maintaining performance and scalability.
  • Collaboration: work closely with development, QC, and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of applications.
  • Improvement: continuously evaluate and improve the DevOps processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, speed, and quality.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a System Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, AliCloud, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) and distributed tracing tools (e.g., Jaeger, OpenTelemetry)
  • Working experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher)
  • Working experience with GitOps concept and tools like ArgoCD, Jenkin
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems
  • Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Plus:

  • Working experience in game publishing industry
