Job Summary

Ness Digital Engineering is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead and govern a complex, in-flight Teradata-to-Databricks migration program. This role involves leading end-to-end delivery, ensuring scope, quality, budget, and schedule adherence across globally distributed data engineering and architecture teams. The TPM will manage critical dependencies, enforce robust governance, produce executive-level reports, and serve as the primary delivery interface between Ness Digital, Databricks, and the customer's leadership.

Must Have

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Teradata-to-Databricks migration.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery across globally distributed data engineering and architecture teams.
  • Coordinate migration workstreams including data extraction, schema conversion, transformation, validation, and cutover.
  • Enforce robust governance frameworks including stand ups, steering committee oversight, JIRA management, and change control.
  • Manage scope of widgets required for conversion, test, deployment across multiple subject areas and technologies.
  • Produce executive-level dashboards, project metrics, and detailed delivery reports across schedule, and risk dimensions.
  • Serve as the Sr delivery interface among Ness Digital, Databricks program management, and the customer’s executive and technical leadership.
  • Provide strong working knowledge of Teradata data warehouse architectures, conversion approaches, and testing.
  • Understand and manage technical decision making around aspects of Teradata to Databricks migration, including data ingestion, multiple ETL Frameworks, and Talend-based processing.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical project or program management.
  • Minimum of 3 years leading large-scale data platform or cloud migrations.
  • Direct experience managing Teradata-to-Cloud (Databricks preferred) migration programs in enterprise settings.
  • Familiarity with Databricks platform components — Delta Lake, Spark, Unity Catalog, Workflows, and Lakehouse architecture.
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor delivery model, ideally as a subcontractor within a hyperscaler or strategic partner ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to manage distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Advanced proficiency in project governance, object inventory control, and executive reporting.

This role sits within a strategic partnership with Databricks, delivering transformation services for a global enterprise customer with a highly distributed delivery model spanning multiple countries and time zones.

The ideal candidate will combine strong program delivery discipline, deep data platform understanding, and exceptional stakeholder management across a multi-vendor ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of the Teradata-to-Databricks migration on behalf of Ness and Databricks, ensuring scope, quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and delivery activities across globally distributed data engineering and architecture teams.
  • Coordinate migration workstreams including data extraction, schema conversion, transformation, validation, and cutover.
  • Ensure technical delivery is aligned with Databricks best practices and customer architecture principles.
  • Manage critical dependencies between Teradata source systems, data pipelines, and new Databricks Lakehouse components.

Governance, Reporting & Quality Control

  • Enforce robust governance frameworks including stand ups, steering committee oversight, JIRA management, and change control.
  • Manage scope of widgets required for conversion, test, deployment across multiple subject areas and technologies.
  • Produce executive-level dashboards, project metrics, and detailed delivery reports across schedule, and risk dimensions.
  • Maintain alignment with Databricks and customer PMO standards, ensuring auditability and traceability of key deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, quality assurance, and documentation accuracy.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the Sr delivery interface among Ness Digital, Databricks program management, and the customer’s executive and technical leadership.
  • Foster effective collaboration across global teams, ensuring consistent communication and timely decision-making across time zones.
  • Represent Ness in program governance and leadership forums, articulating risks, dependencies, and delivery health clearly and credibly.
  • Build trusted relationships with Databricks technical and account leadership to align on strategic goals and escalation management.

Technical Understanding & Oversight

  • Provide strong working knowledge of Teradata data warehouse architectures, conversion approaches, and testing.
  • Understand and manage technical decision making around aspects of Teradata to Databricks migration, including data ingestion, multiple ETL Frameworks, and Talend-based processing.
  • Ensure proper validation, data reconciliation, and performance benchmarks between legacy and target environments.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to define and execute migration methodologies, test plans, and production readiness criteria.
